EA sports rugby (the best rugby sim yet and by a coutry mile)

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. It'll have you driving, riding and flying in all kinds of terrain and on all types of vehicles from quads, trucks, bicycles, choppers, cruisers, trains, helicopters, jets, bi-planes, dingies, yachts, speedboats etc.etc., while chasing down criminals or being chased by them or the cops.

You get to do drive-by shootings, sniping, planting explosives or bugs, paragliding, rob houses, date girlfriends, become a fireman, medic, courier, taxi driver and even a pimp. You can also play pool or gamble in a casino and so much more. This game has just about a bit of everything in it.

I finished this game about a month ago and stormed through the other GTA games just to get back to playing it again. I've got a few other types of games waiting to be played but they're going to have a very long wait indeed.

Started playing this last night. Thought there was too much button mashing for my liking at first till I got to have a 3-some with those twins(?).

My button mashing technique needs a little polishing so I'll probably continue awhile further into the game.

Note: not recommended if you've got kids.

Rumble Roses - I'm not into wrestling but some of the moves and positions the female wrestlers get into is....... interesting. Not to mention the wrestling matches in flesh-coloured mud.

I was a RE fan until they brought out 'Outbreak' which put the player on a time-limit because of a silly virus in your blood that you had to find a cure for. It took away the ability of exploring the locations.
But may try RE4 fairly soon.

Anyone played the Onimusha series of games? Made by the RE team and the gameplay is very similar. Basically you're just swapping a shotgun for a samurai sword and the puzzle elements are suberb.

Last night while playing God of War for the second time, my thumb felt a click coming from the L3 button on the controller. Sure enough, I suddenly found myself in great difficulty trying to control the game's character at a point in a level that required a lot of dexterity.
No problem I thought. I'll just get one of my old knackered controllers that has a functional L3 button and use that temporarily.

Sod me, I had 14 broken controllers in a cabinet to choose from. Some were only for the Ps1 and could be quickly discounted for use. I managed to find one that enabled me to finish my gaming session and have since bought yet another new one today.

I've recently already thrown out several controllers that were too knackered and/or wasn't able to put back together again after trying to repair them

Some are/were original Sony, some are/were fake, some are/were a bit iffy.

Question is....does anyone else go through so many controllers?

I broke my gamecube controller when playing zelda.

Anyway, I just got my PS2 modded so I just bought a load of games. Here are some I can recommend:

God of War -- what others have said. Superb.
Resident Evil 4 -- Better graphics on the gamecube, but still fun on the PS2.
Tomb Raider: Legend -- If you can find a working copy this is a really fun game with great shots of sexy Lara.
Leisure Suit Larry - This is a great game where you try and score with a bunch of college chicks on campus, but I stopped playing because of the bloody long loading times.
Baldur's Gate - Any of these games are great, although it's a bit too much button mashing.
Final Fantasy X - Great role-playing game that's fun and easy with a really good story.
"Fuck off. And take your stupid cult with you."

Just finished and re-started playing 'GUN'.
A western game that gives a relaxing respite from gangstas, wizards, ghouls, burning rubber etc.

Very short missions though and overall gameplay on easy mode was about 20 hours. I'd recommend starting on easy mode as it gets bloody hectic at times in the midst of a gunfight when you're trying to shoot the baddies and not the civilians, looking to see when to reload, replenish your health, use the quickfire draw and reading the on-screen prompts all at the same time.
Missions include; cattle herding, bounty/wildlife hunting, pony express runs, protecting settlers, poker tournaments, etc.

    Well worth 80 baht.

I had an impulse buy of a Sony PS2 last week, which was a bit strange because I've never felt inclined before now....Anyhow, I have spent the last two days driving a scooter around a circle at 35mph in a so far failed attempt to get past stage 4 of a novice licence for Tourist Trophy motorbike racing....I must say it's rather addictive and I'm quite looking forward to driving around the same circle tomorrow evening....I've just ordered an off-road-all-vehicle game which I've no doubt I will also be absolutley terrible at.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

You git! I can't get round that bloody circle, it's driving me mad....I do enjoy pootling around the cities on my scooter though....I'm the player who put the Tourist in TT.

NB: Do you know how to turn the ghost images off?

I also have TOCA3 which has loads of different type cars and tracks. You have to come fourth in two races to progress...My best so far is 11th and that's been by some very aggressive driving....There is a cheat for no damage which I think will help me greatly when I find the right code.

NBB: When I last looked in LoS PS2's were about 12K - About 6K is the cheapest I've seen them in the UK.

It's not exactly the correct technique but tap the accelarator going around the circle.

i think it was about 58km/h for the scooter and the CBR 600 or whatevr it was next.

    Easy.

GTA:SA. Yep fcuking great. Now I prefer Oblivion on the PC though. Same sort of open ended game but far more immersive and the graphics are fcuking gorgeous if you've got a powerful enough piece of kit to run it on.

(To give you a clue, you could buy nearly two PS2's for the price of the graphics card alone that you'd need to fully appreciate this. )

I was too drunk to have walked around the circle last night, let alone driven. My failings aside Tourist Trophy does look like a good game....when you manage to stay on.....damn corners! I'm only really interested in 'driving' games. Are there others that have no reliance on driving skill - maybe one where the objective is to tow a caravan and hold up all of the other players behind you in a country lane? Seriously, I'm not interested in a real 'sim' like F1 2006 where heightened dexterity is required to pull out of a parking space.....I'm more into the demolition-derby type of game....Any maybe one with hovercrafts.....or hoovers.....Ideally a demolition-derby type game with hovercrafts and hooovers....
