Help: The Doors 'organ' sound? Thai student electrone?

I have two questions. I guess I am posting them here because this seems to be the place for topics related to music.

    Questions:

    1) I am curious if anyone knows the special organ that was used in some of the Doors music. I just can't remember the name. I remember it being a small device about the size of an old cash register rather than something like one of our modern keyboards. If you could post a link to a pic of it I would really appreciate that?

    2) in Thailand I often hear students talking of something called an 'electrone' What is this thing? I guess a lot of students learn this in primary school or high school. I sure would like to see a picture of one of these things too. Is it that thing they blow into which has a keyboard attached?

Also Vox bass. The original one used by the Doors is for sale on ebay now. There are some pics there

They also used bass players in the studio, eg the guy from TCB band

In that case it's probably an Electone, not an Electrone. Electone is the Yahama brand name for their line of electronic organs. Thailand is awash in the things, they start at about B3,000 baht.

The Doors got their organ sound from the "Stylophone" pioneered by avant-garde, cutting-edge musical maverick "Rolf Harris". Who was a personal friend of Jim Morris, whom he had met at a Didgeridoo party, where they licked toads together.

Here's a clip of Rolf putting the machine through its paces. Truly a god amongst musicians and artistes.

Thanks for the ideas. I found a video of a guy playing Unhappy Girl and a bit of Soul Kitchen with one of the Vox. Doesn't quite sound like the doors but it's close.

The stylophone is another interesting creation.

So I was wrong in the spelling. The electone is a keyboard. okay, I found a Thai kid playing one on youtube too.

I've heard a lot of kids mentioned they play this thing. It's surprising because it's not that cheap. I guess they do have some cheap ones out there like DrBob stated but this kid can't be playing something that costs 3,000baht.

Think the cheesey sound was a Stylophone but definitely there was a a Fender Rhodes electric piano in there - which was different to most others of the era who were Hammond (B3?) organ with Leslie (Doppler effect rotating mid/treble horn speaker) then a bit later.. Moog and Mellotron uses.
