I watched her on the grammys today and she put in a solid performance.

If she can get herself off her addiction she has a chance of getting her life together, but only she can do it.

Theres that many people addicted to meth these days its become common place and i try not to judge them as the best people can come undone when on this shit.

Ashamed to admit it, but I have yet to hear 'Back to Black'

Well, she won a ton of Grammies: good for her. I downloaded the "Delux version" of Back to Black from mininova. Excellent!

Best songs are Back to Black and Tears Dry On Their Own (and Rehab 1, of course, the extremely catchy hit). She was a music journalist before she became a singer/musician.

She's a sultry mix of Sarah Vaughn and Dusty Springfield, with a touch of Billie Holiday, specially on this:

LONDON (AP) — Amy Winehouse's successful performance at the Grammys shows the troubled young singer is on the road to recovery, her mother said in an interview to be broadcast Tuesday.

Winehouse's spirited appearance via satellite Sunday is an indication that she is overcoming the personal demons which have threatened to overshadow her music career, Janis Winehouse told Britain's GMTV.

"Well, it's Amy coming back, she's definitely on the way back," she said.

Sunday was Winehouse's first public performance since being released from a London rehabilitation clinic for substance abuse. The satellite performance was arranged when the U.S. government rejected her application for a work visa. The decision was reversed, but it was too late to make the trip at that point.

Janis Winehouse said her daughter's appearance at the Grammys spoke for itself.

If people were as easy on Winehouse as they were on others then I am sure that some of my mates would not be banged up, dead or living on the streets.
