"The Ice Man" Richard Kuklinski: Pure Evil?

Just saw a riveting documentary yesterday about this notorious career hitman, who admitted to a psychiatrist in the second interview I saw ("The Ice Man and the Psychiatrist") to murdering over 200 people.

Anyway, I found the first documentary on this page, in seven parts:

The Ice Man serial killer - Google Video

What got to me was the eyes of this man. Chilling. Made the hairs on my back stand on end.

Kuklinski himself at various times claimed to have killed between 33 and 200 individuals. He favored the use of cyanide since it killed quickly and was hard to detect in a toxicology test. He would variously administer it by injection, putting it on a person's food, by aerosol spray, or by simply spilling it on the victim's skin. One of his favorite methods of disposing of a body was to place it in a 55-gallon oil drum. His other disposal methods included dismemberment, burial, or placing the body in the trunk of a car and having it crushed in a junkyard. He also claimed to have left bodies sitting on park benches on more than one occasion.

...he met and married Barbara Pedrici, and later fathered 2 daughters and a son. His family and neighbors were never aware of his activities, instead believing that he was a successful businessman.

A fascinating look at a cold blooded predator extraordinaire.

Just watched part 1, will watch all 7. Thanks for that.

I can't believe he never got life.

Of his other two brothers, his Dad killed one of them and the other became a murderer/rapist.

He's scarier in the more recent interviews. I found particularly chilling his account of letting a man pray for God to rescue him for 30 minutes.

I did watch all 7 yesterday after your post. Yes, I remember he told the guy who was groveling, crying, praying, etc., "I'll give you 30 mins.., if God rescues you, fine, if not you die." God obviously didn't rescue him.

BUT, interesting that such a sociopath, or whatever clinical name you give him also felt regret, sorrow for causing his own wife and kids so much misery. He never felt a single thing for the 200+ people he killed in every manner, but did feel something and was moved to tears for that. Interesting case study.

I don't think we ever saw Charles Manson cry.

Yes, an unusual killer, reminds me of the phrase "the banality of evil."

If any of you guys are Sopranos fans (which I am, seen all 6 1/2 seasons), the creator, David Chase did a wonderful job of recreating this same time of duality in Tony Soprano. A cold blooded killer by day - a loving family man by night.
