^ I've never actually read the book, but got it free on my Kindle last week; thus, I'll probably read the book first then watch the film; as long as it's not ruined by American actors...![]()

^No the acting is good, Pacino's Shylock especially so. Venice looks to be the place to have been.
The female lead plays the story well.
The twists and turns at the end are exquisite.
It makes you appreciate the value of an English Literature 1st.

^ good stuff; I'll give it a go.
Watched London Boulevard today, very good. Good cast and a nicely put together film. Worth a couple of hours of anyone's time.

^I have to agree with you. Good pick.
Jason Statham in "Chase". Kind of a bullshit plot, further complicated by no subtitles and lots of the dialogue in either Chinese or Russian, but some good action scenes. If you like Statham, as I do, 7/10. If you hate him, as many Brits seem to, 4/10.
Many or all? He was fine in a couple of early films, but a tough action hero he is not... Come on, Davis - sort your shit out; he's no Bob Hoskins...Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton

"Safehouse" - Denzel Washington. Good actor - poor movie. Tried to be a Bourne movie, and failed. Totally implausible, hard-to-follow plot, which turned out to be boring in any case. Some good action scenes. 6/10 - only because it was a rainy afternoon, I had no other movies to watch, and Denzel was ok.
Prometheus 3D. I thought it would be a Greek tragedy, seems I was mistaken. They missed out Zeus's role and not much about giving humans fire
I saw it at the cinema. Good 3D effects, reasonable action. More of the Aliens thread but no worse that the first two.
Tickets £11.50, glasses £0.80, Popcorn and coke £5.60 = £17.90 per person, not cheap for a group of 4.
5/10
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
coming out soon here, hate 3D though
this is the latest Ridley Scott movie, supposed to be awesome
"Memorial Day" - Jonathan Bennett, John Cromwell, James Cromwell. The memories of a WW2 paratrooper and his grandson, who goes on to fight in Afghanistan. A very well done movie, far better than I expected. 8/10.
LOL, there is certainly alot of difference between Russian and Chinese and you're hardly going to get a Chinese speaking Russian are we?
I also looked on http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005458/ for the said movie and i dont know of any movie named Chase. Not even his new one "Safe" goes by another name. So just what were you watching Davies?
I was bored and decided to dl Mel's new film that comes under 2 different names. One less political correct than the other. But i like its original title better.
Get the Gringo. I was really surprised by it but it would of been a hell of alot better if my R5 had subs for the spanish, so although i only watched half, i'll give it a 6/10. I really want to see it again with subs so no doubt i'll add another point.

The Statham movie I watched was the 2011 movie "Safe", mistitled on the DVD.

^Cheers will hav a look
Watched God Bless America last night. Good Indie flick about a terminally ill guy who goes on a killing spree with a 16 year old school girl.
Some very funny moments in it and the main character snaps at (amongst other things) the vacuous cult of celebrity that seems to be infecting the world.
It did drag a little towards the back end of the film but that could have been down to the time I was watching it.
7/10
Also written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait who was the guy with the high pitched voice in Police Academy 3!
<Your advert for prostitutes here, reasonable rates>
Must be a Chinese copy that fucked up with the translation then, or saw Statham running all the time and just named in Chase.

Noticed it has Chris Sarandon who probably hasn't worked since he was the baddie in The Princess Bride. Expecting an enjoyable stinker.
A man crossing into Mexico with a satchel of $2,000,000, and a bloody past, finds himself under sudden attack in the sleepy town of El Fronteras.
Funny that ^. Sounds a bit like that Mel film. He crosses over to Mexico with 2+ mill. Although Mel spends most of his time in a Mexican prison.
'Angels and Demons'
Quite a good tale about the battle between the Catholic Church and the 'illuminate' the organization of scientists that was persecuted by the church for pointing out scientific truths.
It had me rooting for the church for a while there, until I thought, hey wait a minute.....
Good film.
Not new.
Absolutely awesome background of Rome.
“If we stop testing right now we’d have very few cases, if any.” Donald J Trump.

The Illuminate?
Reminds me of the summer of 2004 and my battle with the laminate floor in my front room.

"El Gringo". Total suck. 1/10.
