Looks pretty good, check it out
Looks pretty good, check it out
that is awesome
Looks great. But, only available in the US with a two year contract with Cingular wireless and then not until June....
If it sells it will become available every where, Its a little pricey at $500
give it 2 years and it will be $199.
Another great product brought to you by mac
They have to change the name now, the Iphone was registered by another company allready !
I'd love that. It's a GSM phone, so it should at least partly work in this part of the world. The technology, as demonstrated, is truly fine. And, the fact that it runs OS/X means that third parties should be able to develop little applications for it with ease.Originally Posted by MeMock
Another plus: the same touch-screen slickness would work really well on a tablet PC should Apple ever decide to come out with one. But, maybe the iPhone with it's full QWERTY keyboard makes the idea of a tablet PC obsolete?
I wonder how good the camera is?
Does anyone have the full specs on this thing?
This will be interesting. Cisco says they wanted to come to an agreement with Apple about joint use of the name, but Apple just sort of stopped negotiating. I think Cisco wanted some sort of joint interoperability as well. (The iPhone does WiFi as well as GSM; Cisco's phone does WiFi only.)Originally Posted by forreachingme
I'm not sure why Apple didn't just call it The iPod Phone....

overpriced useless gadget for bored geeks and fags. I will pass, thank you.
thanks BH.
And you can buy WiFi SIP phone (with free International calls) for less than 100 Euros already, why wait for a hip gadget.

I think it's the CISCO iPhone. Cisco introduced the name when they added voice over IP to their routers. I remember, cos I was there!
Not that two hugely successful companies need to argue over a name, but then perhaps their lawyers are having a slack time.
I nearly bought a phone for 6000B that did pretty much the same as the iPhone. More overpriced nonsense for those with more money that sense (Apple affecianados).
It's shite.
I got given a free O2 XDA IIs two years ago, which does everything the the iPhone does (and more) in pretty much the same package. Plus you can install your own 3rd party software (freeware/shareware, or write your own) on it. There's no 3rd party access to the iPhone and you will be able to download 'extras', but only what Apple decides to make available at a price they decide.

It's a nice solid phone with one of the better designs I have seen, but far from revolutionary in any other respect. Anyone who does their homework will see that competitors like Nokia and Sony Ericsson both offer phones with better specs already.
Apple has a small edge in terms of design and are usually good at intuitive usability, but they also charge more for their products.
I'll pass.
How can anyone say its shite or overpriced untill it's actually released and you you have actually seen one??
By the price estimates provided and the feature data from Apple, compared to existing phones and PDAs.
I wish someone would just sell a phone that was, uh, just a phone.
As a gift, however, it would wet the pants of any Thai GF!
i still think the best phone out there at the moment is the Sony k790i.
Does what a mobile phone should, looks good and has a full 3.2 mp cyber shot camera tucked inside of it.
Just the thing to revive the Thai girls knickers thread!
