it's hot in that desert
I don't know which I hate more 'motion smoothing' or 'shaky camera'
At least motion-smoothing can be turned off.
There does not seem to be a technological solution to getting red of idiot directors' decisions to shake the camera around a bit to make their movie feel more 'authentic'.
It is possible to run home movies through editing suites to get rid of unwanted shake (which results in slight cropping of the picture) so I guess this could be done to movies that have been ruined by muppet director's and their shaky camera obsession.
Fixing it in realtime during playback is probably too processor-intensive a proposition.
