Particular scenes that stay with you

Post a description of a short scene from film/tv, etc. that really stays with you.

A Vid and/or a slice of trivia about the scene, production (or other) would be nice.

    If you post a vid,
    please remove the "s"
    in the url (https),
    so it reads: http

    Intolerable Cruelty

George's character meets the firm's CEO:

The screenplay was written by Robert Ramsey and Matt Stone and then refashioned by the Coen Brothers in the mid 1990s. Initially the screenplay was attached to Ron Howard and then Jonathan Demme, who had planned to cast Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant in the lead roles.

    Who can forget Bluto's lunch?

John Belushi's performance in the cafeteria scene was entirely improvised. When he began piling food on his tray, Director John Landis urged the camera operator to "stay with him." The infamous "I'm a zit" gag was also improvised, and the reaction from the cast is completely genuine.

I remember when i was young seeing a newsreel of (I think) the Saigon police chief putting a pistol to the head of a suspected VC and killing him on the spot in the middle of the street. The casualness of that police chief has stayed with me for life.

    Hudsucker Proxy

Main character is "welcomed" to his new job in the mail department.

Jennifer Jason Leigh won the role of Amy Archer over Ellen Barkin, Nicole Kidman, Winona Ryder, and Bridget Fonda.

The movie reunites Tim Robbins, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Peter Gallagher who all previously appeared in Short Cuts (1993).

The death of Waring Hudsucker was inspired by a real-life incident. On February 3, 1975, Eli Black, the CEO of the United Fruit Company, smashed an office window with his briefcase and jumped to his death from the 44th floor of the Pan Am Building in New York City.

During filming, a family of rabbits were accidentally killed. Stanley Kubrick, an animal lover, was so upset that he canceled the rest of the day's work.

Denzel Washington was considered for the role of Eightball and has said that it is a role that he regrets missing out on.

According to an interview with Vincent D'Onofrio, the production schedule for the film was so drawn-out that lead actor Matthew Modine got married, conceived a child with his wife, the child was born, and then turned 1 year old...all during the course of filming.

Val Kilmer auditioned for the part of Pvt. Joker. According to Matthew Modine, Kilmer confronted Modine in a restaurant and challenged Modine to a fight because he believed that Modine had stolen the part from him. But Modine was not even aware of the film at the time. Modine later sent Kubrick footage from Vision Quest (1985) and won the part.

Vivian Kubrick (one of Stanley's daughters) wrote the score to Full Metal Jacket using the pseudonym Abigail Mead.
While Kubrick had initially envisioned a score that featured Japanese drum compositions, after hearing an original piece his daughter had recorded, he asked her to score the entire film.

This movie and in particular this scene should be mandatory for all newly inaugurated US presidents.

Fred's phone number ends in the digits 666. This is revealed when he dials it at the prompting of The Mystery Man.

This was Richard Pryor's final film before his death on December 10, 2005 at the age of 65.

According to director David Lynch, the first scene in the film is based upon an incident which occurred in his own life. He says that early one morning, his intercom buzzed, and when he answered it a voice he didn't recognize said, "Dick Laurant is dead." However, by the time he got to the front of the house to look out the window, there was no-one outside.

    This is like fecking FarceBook.

Tempted to post a grisly scene from:

'Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer'

based on the true story of Henry Lee Lucas, portrayed by Michael Rooker

as it just crawled under my skin and stayed,
but...the scene is way over the top, brutal and horrific.

I believe there really was a free fire zone practiced in Vietnam, a tsunami of evil unleashed by the biggest bastard and traitor the USA ever had as president, that scumbag LBJ.
