Eagles to release first album in 28 years






Los Angeles - Seminal country-rock band The Eagles are to release their first album in 28 years, according to an announcement Thursday by their record label Universal.

One of the best-selling bands of all time, The Eagles will release The Long Road From Eden at the end of October.

The band, composed of Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmidt, has sold more than 120 million records worldwide including their Greatest Hits 1971-75, which is one of the best selling albums of all time with 29 million copies sold.

Most famous for hits like Hotel California and Life In The Fast Lane, they last released a collection of new material, The Long Run, in 1979. The band split in 1980 but reunited for live shows in 1994.//DPA
