Downloading movies - I have no idea

I want to download some movies, mainly for the kids.

Usually I find the YouTube and then convert that file using FreeMake Video Converter, slow, but works well.

But some stuff you just can't get.

So, treat me like a newbie, I know little ... walk me through the steps I need to do.

Point in case, my kids just love The Jungle Book 2, can't find the YouTube in English to convert.

Anyone have the time to walk me through the process?

    Nice and simple please.

    Thanks in Advance.

I have been told you need program like UTorrent which you download and use to process and direct the downloads.
Then you go to proxybay and chose a site and search for the movie you want and click on the little magnet symbol.
    Or something like that

I have no idea how to use Kodi...

I know there are a number of people into this, maybe one will be along shortly.

It seems you need torrents, and a bit of computer savvy.

Plus a complete disregard for copyrights laws. The last has always stopped me from investigating further.

downloading- you need to download and install this first... scroll down past the paid for utorrent to the second download which is the free version

Windows Downloads - ?Torrent® (uTorrent) - a (very) tiny BitTorrent client

once you have installed that visit this site to get your movies/tv shows/music/porn/ kids android games/ebooks/audiobooks or whatever......

The page I'm sending you to on the site is for your jungle book 2 movie

Click the red upside down magnet to download

It will then open up Utorrent, just click OK and you will see it downloading. After it finishes downloading, just click the movie title in utorrent and it will open up your download folder where by default the movie is saved, then voila just press play

Right this is the page where Jungle Book 2016 torrents are, some are 1080 some 720p, the 1080 is full HD but is bigger and takes longer to download, some are some cont with a camcorder in the cinema eating popcorn, shaking the camera and farting, they are identified as TS, HDTS,TC, HDTC and Cam, which obviously you don't want

    https://thepiratebay.org/search/jung...ook%202/0/99/0

Also you will need a player, this is the best one

VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!

Another thing, when clicking through the installation process on these 2 programs make sure to take your time and untick other programs they try to get you to install

No worries. We all have different skill sets. I am farking ace at polishing my shoes. But i digress.

There was all this guff about "seeding" and ports open on your computer etc etc. Given that i mostly work on a work computer, through a proxy, it was just a whole ball of yarn i decided not to start to unravel.

Piece of cake David, Google bittorrent, or any of the other torrent down loaders.
Download the software, then you are ready to go, it will automatically kick in when you start a torrent download.

Go to one of the many torrent sites, and click on the magnate, or other symbol and the download will start.

You will need a player, I use VLC, another free download, which plays TV and movies on your computer, or you can put the movie on a usb and watch it on most TVs.

As to the legality of doing it, depends on the country your in and what you download, but if you are just watching not for profit, then the FBI are not going to come for you.

So BitTorrent download, VLC player and a torrent site and your up and running.

I was asked by a couple of people to show them the basics so I thought I'd make a quick how to thread that may be of use. I am in no way an expert and this is the very first basic steps but this is how I do it and it works ok for me.

First you will need to download a program to deal with the torrent.

Download - µTorrent - a (very) tiny BitTorrent client

Once that has downloaded, install and open the program. It should look something like this

Now I would suggest not to play around with the settings too much to begin with. Mine actually worked better before I started messing with things so I changed all the settings back to standard. One thing you will want to change however is the directory or folder that it saves your files to.

Your now ready to add a torrent file. There are lots of places to search for the torrent you want but a good site to start with is KickAss Torrents http://www.kat.ph
In the top right hand corner you can enter the TV show, movie or file your looking for.

I want to download the new episode of 'Dexter'. So after entering your search term you will now see a screen that looks like this.

Now there is lots of information to take in when choosing which file to download. You will want to look for the number of seeders (That's the number of people sharing the file), the number of leachers (That's the people trying to download the file), the file format (.avi .mkv .mp4 etc) and you can take a look through the comments to get an idea of video/audio quality.

Once you have chosen which file you want, click to download.

Once the torrent file has download click to open it. The first time you do this your computer may not recognise what program to open the file with so just select uTorrent and it should remember that for next time.

You will now see the torrent load up inside uTorrrent. Again you will have a choice of where to download the file to. Click OK to start downloading.

Now it's important to understand that the torrent file you download from KickAss torrents or whatever site you use does not contain the actual video file. The video files are not stored on the internet but stored and shared between people's computers. The files are broken down into many small pieces and shared (You don't have to worry about this as uTorrent does it all for you). The torrent file just tells uTorrent where to look for the video file.

Here you can see the download speed, the upload speed (you automatically share what ever pieces of the video file you have so far whilst downloading) along will all the file information. The speed you download at will depend on the popularity of the file, the number of seeders, your internet connection, what way the wind is blowing etc etc

Once the file is finished you will continue to share the file until it is deleted / removed from uTorrent.

Find the folder you specified the file to download to and enjoy. You just became a torrentor

    Cheers

I find u torrent does not always open auto, sometimes you have to double click the torrent in the bottom left corner of the browser when it's downloaded

This sums it up pretty good, but Kickass has changed domains as they were busted a while back. Its now:

    KAT - Kickass Torrents

    And Pirate bay:

    https://thepiratebay.org

Like Dillinger said, VLC media player is best. Download that and set it as your default media player, when you click any video, regardless of filetype it will open in VLC. It plays everything.

Honestly VLC should be on any device IMHO, laptop, phones, android box, etc.. Solves so may issues.

Another thing I don't see many people mention is using an ad-blocker all the time. For sites like pirate bay it removes a lot of the fake links & confusing bullshit off the screen and leaves only the meat and potatoes remaining.

I never use the VPN for torrents and I've DL'd terabytes in Thailand, US, etc... Never used a VPN for it, even though I have a paid one. Never got a notice or anything, anywhere, other than one time Verizon throttled my internet speed due to their 'fair use policy' for the 'remainder of the billing cycle' and to be honest it was probably well deserved.

Is it different in UK or AU?

Another great source of movie (and occasionally documentary) torrents is YIFY.

Download YIFY Torrent for YIFY Movies faster - yify-torrent.org

They might not have the very, very latest movies, but what they do have are quality copies, with usually the option of 720p/1080p downloads. They also only upload as MP4, which is great for me as all of my media I convert to MP4 and put into iTunes to then play via Apple TV.

The Jungle Book (2016) in 3D:

Download The Jungle Book (2016) YIFY Torrent for 3D mp4 movie in yify-torrent.org

The Jungle Book (1967) in 1080p:

Download The Jungle Book (1967) YIFY Torrent for 1080p mp4 movie in yify-torrent.org

Another good source of TV shows, both US and UK origin is EZTV:

Not doubting your abilities, but are you sure you have the settings adjusted properly? VLC has some decent adjustability. Also there is certain criteria that have to be met for it to work as well, like the file must be longer than 3 minutes and the file must be local, on the hard drive. Mine works fine, here is the setting on Mac:

It can try, It's been grounded after an advert showed for some films .
    now its behind my firewall.

    Ok thanks Slick
    I'll give it another go
    I had that option ticked
But was running the windows 86x version, not sure that it should matter but .. I've updated to the 64 bit .

And set it up thus, following this web advice.
    I'll test it tomorrow.

It would be nice if it just continued playback without asking if you want to do that.

    Richard May 3, 2016 at 12:55 pm
    Found the setting in –

Tools > Preferences > "All" View (not Simple) > Interface > Main Interface > QT interface > Continue Playback? set to Always.

If they worked a little harder they could really bury this setting :-)
