Go for it. Samsung do seem to specifically make phones to break after 2 years. Might as well buy the cheapest one for your needs.

Maybe your Samsung just needs a new battery.

    Which model is it?

Hi,its a Galaxy Fame,it has been acting up recently but after a funeral in Isaan last week where it spent a few hours in a pool of water in the back of a truck it has now died. The Aston has great camera specs, also quad core as I use the gps a lot (sygic)

I'm not big on phones but recently needed to replace mine so I took the plunge and bought a ZTE Blade A711 from Laz and I'm pretty happy with it. 4990 Baht and shipped by Laz via DHL.
    ZTE Blade A711 16GB (Silver) | Lazada.co.th

Minimal bloatware installed, clean and crisp to use and the screen is excellent. It takes 2 sims or 1 plus a mem card so if photos are your thing you can up the built-in 16GB to 128 with a card.

It has a fingerprint reader on the back which is damn useful to wake it up and the aluminium body is very slick.

One caveat is that the mobile shops here have never seen one before so you may be hard pressed to find a protective case and film for it but Laz does sell covers (although quite expensive imho at ~490 Baht) and there is a film for a Vivo (I think) that has the right holes for the ZTE's speaker and home button and doesn't interfere with the other sensors on the front of the phone.

I chose a samsung a5 2016 for some one last month as it had OIS ( optical image stabilisation ) which if you plan to use it for a lot of photos might be good

it has the rest of the required - 2 sims , gorilla glass etc

even with gorilla glass I would put on a screen protector - my note 2 is 4 years old in a couple of months and I did not put a protector on it and there are scratches if you hold it at a certian angle in the light , but nothing I see when using it
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

For 5000 baht, you can get a decent Samsung or Sony - that's the way to go.

Or, the missus recently got a new iPhone - said it was a piece of shite and sold it within a week (only 5,000 baht of my money loss...); she bought a Samsung Note 5 and loves it - great selfie camera apparently!

    You're welcome.

Got the S7 a month ago. Good phone. Battery life not stellar, but does all a phone needs to and takes fantastic pics.

    Bit pricey though.

The Note 5 is for women or gay curious nerds like Baldrick who need to have a phallus in their hand, mouth or over the ear every waking moment. Its old now too.

Apparently the Note 6 is due this summer, and is rumoured to have many of the features of the S7 (water/dustproof, expandable storage etc. Also rumoured to have 8 Gb RAM.

I got the S7 Edge a couple of months ago, and am very pleased with it. Fantastic screen, very fast loading with 4 Gb RAM, and the battery of 3600 a/h seems to go on forever. But, fairly serious money of course and many of it's attractions a lot of people wouldn't want or be prepared to pay for.

A new report out of Samsung's native South Korea now claims that the company's next flagship phablet will not be called Galaxy Note 6, as everyone expected. Instead, Samsung will allegedly go with Galaxy Note 7, skipping the number 6 entirely.

The main reasoning behind this move apparently has to do with consistency. Samsung wants all of its flagships released in the same year to have the same number - so if this pans out, in 2016 we'll have the S7, S7 edge, and Note 7. That way there's no chance of some consumers assuming that a Note 6 is a generation older than the S7 edge, for example.

If you are looking at an expensive new smartphone, I would hold out until Google announce which new phones are Daydream-compatible.

If you are a fussy prick (like me) and hate small annoyances i.e. bugs and glitches.. do yourself a favor and buy an iphone.

Like many suckers, I bought my samsung galaxy s6, due to it's better hardware specs 'on paper'.
I'm tired of having to troubleshoot various bugs due to it's shitty software.

I'm not an apple fanboy, I've been loyal to android for years. Never again... I'm waiting for iphone 7s plus and will never buy another android phone again.

I just want a reliable phone that works right out of the box. Sure, it's nice to be able to change and personalize your phone's icons/widgets, etc... but I'll gladly give up that to have a reliable phone.

Android beats iphone on paper, but is let down by it's poor ram management/bloatware and glitchy software.

Sorry for the rant... had to get that off my chest.
Fuck android you lost yet another fan.. hello iphone..

P.s. if you can't wait till september for iphone 7, get iphone 6s plus.. just my 10 cents bro.

Well I much prefer the Galaxy S7 compared to my old iPhone 6.

    here's some of the advantages my S7 has over the iPhone 6;

32GB of storage straight away compared to my iPhone 6's paltry 16GB which was soon gobbled up.

An SD card slot capable of housing another 200GB. No SD card slots on the iPhone. That S7 SD card slot also doubles up as another sim card slot if you want dual sims.

A File manager, try finding that on your iPhone

Waterproofing. I can take it in the bath for at least half an hour.

Connectivity. ie NFC, Wifi direct and Bluetooth. None of that shitty airplay and airdrop.

Flud or ttorrent- Try downloading torrents on an iPhone.

    Superior camera.

4K video recording to playback on my TV.

FM radio- I dont use it, but Android phones have it and iPhones don't.

    And no cnuting Itunes.

Best of all it was 3,000 fukkin baht cheaper. I bought mine off lazada for 21,900.

Fuck Apple and their overpriced Gay shit!!

55 lookin' fresh wiv ma iphone...

Yeah, first couple months or so, with my sg6... was all goodies and happy rainbows...

Fast forward to now... want to throw the piece of shit at a wall...same o' fooking same o'...glitch bug stutter crash yawn...

Yes, on paper our phones are better. The hardware is better... screen resolution (not that your eyes can see that many fooking pixels) and camera may have a slight edge in low light...

But the software lets it all down the blurter. No wonder it needs twice as much ram cause it's coding is so unoptimized and bloaty...

Iphone is smoother..software is optimized for it's hardware so the integration is perfect. To each their own, both have pros cons.. (I don't wana use itunes to transfer my mp3's either.
Just can't stand this glitchy shit.. as I'm typing this, there is a slight delay between me pressing the keys and it's just doing my head in...

I don't wana start an android vs iphone war.. just my experience/opinion ya'll..

    I prefer silver BTW. Hehe

^ Have you ever done a hard reset on it?

Hold the power button and the volume down button together at the same time.

    Should sort it out

You could always root it and get rid of all of Samsungs bloatware on it

    8^ 55...yup..hard reset done..

And you guys know me.. first thing I do is root my device.
    lol

I am still hoping the new marshmellow update 6.0.1 (over 1 GB update) will fix some of those issues..so I will reserve my final judgement till then.

I don't dare update until I can offload my travel pics to my main com in NZ, lest I lose them..

I really do want to stay aboard the android ship...
Keep telling myself.. it's better spec Dick, more ram, better screen
    Yada yada...just not feeling it..
