Ray Winstone was good in "Nil By Mouth" but I'm told that he really only does those sort of characters well - ie right ****s.

^ Agreed - that's what I mean by underrated, by the general public.

...And the majority of the general public are thick as shit and wouldn't know talent if it bit them on the arse.

Otherwise we wouldn't have Pop Idol or Adam Sandler.

Another great character actor. There are so many of them who never get accolades.

How true. He won a Golden Globe and several Emmy's. For those who haven't seen "Truman", suggest you do.

Yeah, the good character actors always get the short end of the stick, and yet they are the glue that holds so many movies together.....

Gary Sinise can play the guitar too, and he was in Mission to Mars with Tim Robbins - a shit film made watchable by two underrated actors.

don't think you could ever call Robins underrated.

agree they gave the movie an element of watchability though.

I didn't highlight Tim Robbins, I just gave him a mention - I was on the Gary Sinise bandwaggon.

Stanley Tucci - You see him in loads of movies. He has a very wide range and I reckon he's under-rated.

Gary Oldman and Ed Norton are fantastic actors.
Loved Gary Oldman in True Romance and Murder in the first.
Ed Norton was brilliant in American history X and what Was that movie that he played a guy with a stutter. Richard Gere was in it too?

Here's another one. He's pretty weird, but a great character actor.

William H. Macy. He starred in Fargo along with Steve Bescimi.
