He's a real pro. Does a fine job no matter what the role.

One of my favorites is John Cusak. He's quite versatile and one of the best when it comes to ironic comedy.
    John Cusak is excellent

Lot of names here. Of good actors. And most of these actors listed are not underrated, IMO. Me such a party pooper.

I think Chris Penn was a great actor, R.I.P.

Actually, Joe Dallesandro is a lousy actor, was waiting for someone to point this out, but he's a cult idol.

Any comments on Mick Jagger's attempts at acting?
I liked him in "performance" - not much acting for him I suppose.

How can you say an actor is underrated when he has won an Academy Award? That signifies recognition.

I would say Chris Cooper; nominated but hasn't won yet. He is a very fine actor.

    ^ Loved him in Sideways

    Sideways (2004)

all these actors are excellent, and not underrated. Hollywood know their values. They just don't always appear or have leading roles in mega hit movies for the masses. It's better that way. Independent movies with great actors is the way it should be, making Movies an art again instead of an industrial commercial operation.

Russell Crowe gave him a really hard time when they were making Cinderella Man. Crowe thought he wasn't much of an actor.
Personally, I reckon he's excellent. Not only did I think he was better than Crowe in Cinderella Man, he put in a pretty good performance in The Illusionist with Edward Norton.

Gerald McCraney - veteran television actor.
Typical of good actors who never make the big time through lack of muscle or visual appeal.
He's finally found a good slot in "Jericho".

Hugo Weaving, I know it sounds a bit gay but he was great in Priscilla-Queen of the desert. Also the Matrix trilogy and more recently the excellent V for Vendetta.

I thought Winstone was fekin awful in the departed... well, I couldn't work out where the fuck he was supposed to be from, his accent was terrible, but that was probably Scorcese's fault for getting a Cockney to play an Irish-American. He is normally a very good actor though
