    Downloading Shared Music???

I use Bearshare but it hasn't got a good selection.
Does anybody know of any other sites I could try?

Soulseek and Limewire are supposed to be best for music but I have never tried them.

If you download uTorrent you'll find it has a search function that scans the most popular Bit Torrent trackers, but the selection is usually not fantastic. Still, it is worth trying out.

Direct Connect is not too shabby either, especially if you use a client like StrongDC++ or ApexDC++, but you will need a large hard drive to use it, because the system depends on you yourself sharing a great deal in order to gain access to the best hubs (=central computers that handle searches and (sort of) make the initial connection between users). You'll need to share at least 20 GB of movies/music to use decent hubs, and to get access to the best ones, about 60-70 GB. Storage is cheap these days anyway.

The Direct Connect interface looks like a cross between IRC and Napster - users connected to the same hub see a main chat window, a user list to the left, and the download progress bars at the bottom, and can also open private windows by clicking on other users, for chatting. It is a good way to find other users who share your tastes, but speeds are generally not as fast as popular Bit Torrent trackers.

Perhaps not the easiest site to navigate but it's got a large selection and some excellent compilations & a fair few Bootlegs.
