What basic smart phone for my wife?

I am so confused with all these phones out now. I understand the iPhones but none of the other smart phones on the market.

My wife got my hand me down iphone 3 just a few months ago and enjoyed it but then the battery clapped out suddenly.

She is stingier then I am and when she saw the prices of the new iphones she said no way.

So what I am wondering is if I give a list of what she needs it for could you wise people out there inTD land tell me what would be the cheapest phone but can do all of the below:

    Make phone calls
    Take decent photos and video
Check her emails once in a blue moon.
Also once in a blue moon she will use the internet to check a phone number or an address etc.
Use Skype often. Have a two way camera.
NO Facebook or twitter or anything like that.
    NO games needed.

    Many thanks.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

she's had it since march and is in its thrall

    only about 6,000 baht

great video quality even on a 50 inch tv

    it's a windows 8 operating system
some people might prefer android but it has all the apps she needs

Bangyai bought one and really likes it. I am looking at it as well. He got it for 5,000 baht, in fact just under.

For ease of use as well as being a good phone, I'd also say the a Nokia Windows Phone.

If she's used to the iPhone now, buy her an iPhone 4s. they still make them brand new and are only 15,000 baht, instead of 24000 baht for a 5s.

However that is still more than 3 times the price I picked the Moto G up for. The iPhone did take much better photos than the Moto G,felt classier too.

It's your Missus, Memock. If I were you i'd be thinking

Classiness, prestige and familiarity with usability- iphone 4s

unbeatable spec for the price - Moto G

    Yellow, custard, wellies, bananas- Nokia

I just got a 7 inch Samsung galaxy tab3 with a 16G internal chip and 8G external, it might be a little big but you can see it well, the cell and wifi reception super. And it was only 9000 baht at Banana IT. It is set up to use the new nano sim and the 4g network.
Takes excellent picsture and video too!

Actually, I should have waited until now since they have gone down in price to only 4600 baht !! An outrageously good deal. In fact I'm tempted to say something I swore I would never say

    " OMG .........it's awsome . "

I was playing with it last night and download an app ( see...I is learning da lingo too ) that allows me to watch TV on it from 50 countries. Was watching BBC news without any buffering.......amazing..( to a newbie )

^ they are wonderful things when you first get them, a bit like your first set of Chinese anal balls; who would know such pleasures were out there???

    Absolutely no idea...

The Nokia 540 is a good buy. OP, if possible, let the missus play with both and see which one she prefers - Central is your friends (becuase you get to leer at all the hot chicks while she's looking at the phones...).
How do I post these pictures???

The only good smartphone to go it IMOBILE IQx (ten)

8000 thb for 18millions pix front camera and 8mpix back.

All specs are better than iphone and samsung.

People who will advise anything else do not know what they talk about and mostly are retarded who follow what advertising tell them to do.

Now let the monkeys who know nothing give their opinion <3

This is getting on for the worst advice I've ever heard... Having a Beng in electronic engineering and worked in telecoms/new media for the first 15 years after I left uni, I think I have half an idea about these devices. Whilst there are elements of choice/preference, your iMobile is truly a piece of crap...

As you do not seem to know what you are talking about you should go back to school or just keep buying your shite samsung and iphone as all the monkeys.
Please come back again when you will have tried this generic phone that beats anything that you had in your hands until now, master.
