    Tears to ones eyes

What music brings tears to your eyes.

I just found a collection of Scottish music Bagpipes and Drums played by the Grampian Police.

Flower of Scotland made my eyes well up with tears (good tears)

Verdi's operatic chorus 'Va Pensero' from Nabucco always brings tears to my eyes.
Even if you don't recognise the name, you'll probably have heard the chorus somewhere.
Va Pensero means thoughts fly away, it is about the exiled Jews in Egypt dreaming about there homeland. Quaint really, considering recent threads on TD.

I like Beethoven's 9th, brings a lump to my throat when the choir explodes into "Freude schone gotterfunken". I can play that part on the Northern xylophone, it's my party piece - known and feared all over Chiang Mai province

Flower of Scotland is a terrible tuneless song, sorry folks. There's supposed to be a new national anthem, no idea what it is.

I was talking about pipes and drums too - Flower of Scotland is crap unless its sung by 50 odd thousand people at Hampden or Murrayfield.
