I need a game to play

I've had enough of STALKER too difficult at the end.

I want something else to play.

Maybe a game to play over a long time. Civilization or Age of Empires style

    Any recommendations?

    PC please

I play Civilization. I think the third version is better than the fourth.
You can waste many hours on it.

Civilisation can be be addictive. I was hooked on version III for while (think there is version IV now). I used to get really frustrated with the populations of my cities, always bloody rioting when I had a war to fight - ungrateful bastards. It's a good game though, easy to get to grips with.

I'm looking at a ten day free trial of World of Warcraft.

I'm a bit worried I might like it and start dressing like an Orc L3 Braun Magic Mixer

Which level do you play? I'm still on warlord but a mate does deity with young world, huge map, barbarians and no acceleration, taking up to a week per game.

Thats extreme. I play shorter games, usually at the level below Deity, sometimes the one below that. I've never tried Deity.
I've been playing Civ4 recently, even though Civ3 is better. A Civ3 game will take me between 3.5 & 8 hours.

I'm playing World of Warcraft since nearly 2 years now on the french server Khaz Modan. I like the game but I wouldn't recommend it to somebody who is busy with wife and kids cos it requires a lot of time playing to reach a decent lvl and lvl up all the different skills.
From Thailand the latency is also not so good, around 650ms most of the time but still playable.

You could make ISO's of the disks and stick them on one DVD KW.

Crikey you must be speedplaying or small map; I'm on warlord and rarely get away with less than 9 hours.
