Going to buy an all in one PC

I'm looking at buying an all in one PC. I've been asking about and it seems 50% of people seem to think touch screen is the best and the other 74.6% reckon touch screen is a fad.

    Advice please.

Was looking at them yesterday in tukcom. Decided against touch screen in the end because although in an ideal world it would be pretty useful, i actually live in a world where I eat at my desk and work at the same time so would for ever be wiping off stuff from the screen. It's not a fad but a personal preference I guess.

I'm way too lazy to actually lift my arm off the desk to touch the bloody screen. Having to do that would get very annoying, very quickly.

Add me to the camp that thinks touch screens are a no-no.

My desktop is generally much further away than the length of my arms.

I get the point of them on a smart phone or tablet but I can't imagine any benefits of the extra cost on a monitor sitting a metre and a half away from me, especially since I regularly use a graphics tablet and mouse at the same time.

Same here, I have an all in one with touch screen, when ants or mosquitoes get on the screen at night, they start clicking on it and scroll the screen up and down. i never use the touchscreen on it, I like to use a remote keyboard and mouse anyhow.
Most of the shit on Windows is too small to press with my fatty fudge fingers too

How much do you wanna spend, what size screen, what do you use it for ?

Acer do some well priced models and have fantastic customer support in Bangkok, they start at around 12,000 baht.

The HP's and Samsungs I was looking at were 30-42k.

The only good thing about the Samsung was it matched my TV.

Touch screens would end up covered in manky finger prints.

If you press your arse cheeks onto a touch screen, fart, and then remove your arse cheeks, you leave the shape of a heart on the screen.#
    Endless hours of fun.

    #Also works on normal screens.
    And mirrors.
    And glass doors and windows.

am looking to replace my flaky lap top and a timely thread.

Have a tablet and have all the problems stated above....so frickin annoying when reading a book when one inadvertently touches the wrong place on or off the screen ..five minutes trying to get back to the page.

Think I would go for a big tablet with a pen if one could add a wireless mouse and maybe the ability to auto limit( increase) touch time on certain applications.

Meantime will buy an old tech laptop or desktop...lots of articles out there discussing the demise of the laptop for most things except work applications.

Try building a spread sheet or writing a letter with a touch screen....frickin pain!
