    One Artist One Track

Post an artist that you like and one track by the artist that you believe will turn other people on....Obviously it's up to individuals if they decide to take you up on your recommendation and risk buying a CD from their local record store just to listen to one track; but that's not your problem, you will have done your bit for the music loving community and will be able to sleep soundly.

Group: Tindersticks - Track: CF GF from the album Simple Pleasure....A slow love song which will have you slow dancing around the room with the nearest piece of furniture....Be sure to stay listening for the heart wrenching beauty of the finale.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

Right, a mad lively one, so put that piece of furniture down before you break something....

Artist: Primal Scream - Track: Accelerator from the album Xtrmntr....This is just good old rock and roll...Play it loud, and if the neighbours complain turn it up louder, and if the police come turn it up louder, and if you get taken to court....say sorry and hope that they let you off.

    Nice description....

I've picked up on many a new artist and one off great tracks via mentions by TD members. There's so much music out there that a recommendation does no harm - And if you listen to something and don't like it what have you lost.

I was going to introduce them as the 'US version of Coldplay but with bite', but I won't as I'm trying to sell them to you good people.

Rolf Harris -- Two Little Boys

A heart wrenching ballad about two young boys who play together when young and form a life long bond of comradeship culminating in one risking his life to save the other. Truly one of the greatest songs ever written. The lyrics are unforgetable no matter how hard you try.
You won't dance with the furniture listening to this one but you might smash it into sawdust.

OK, OK, OK, I'll change my choice.

Andy Stewart -- Donald where's your Troosers ?

An outstanding Scottish folk song about a young lad who comes down to London from the Isle of Skye. His swinging kilt is a big hit with all the girls who swoon and shout "Donald where's your troosers"
An unfortunate gust of wind exposes Donalds wedding tackle and he is arrested and does six months porridge.

I just got in frae the Isle of Skye
I'm not very big and I'm awfully shy
The ladies shout as I go by
    "Donald where's your troosers?"

    Chorus
    Let the winds blow high,
    Let the winds blow low,
Down the street in m' kilt I go
And all the ladies say "Hello
    Donald where's your troosers?"

    2. A lady took me to a ball
And it was slippery in the hall
I was afraid that I might fall
'Cause I had nae on me troosers!
    Chorus

    3. They'd like to wed me everyone
Just let them catch me if they can
You canna put the breeks on a highland man
    Who doesn't like wearing troosers.
    Chorus

    4. To wear the kilt is my delight,
    It isn't wrong, I know it's right.
    The highlanders would get afright
If they saw me in trousers.
    Chorus

    5. Well I caught a cold and me nose was raw
I had no handkerchief at all
So I hiked up my kilt and I gave it a blow,
Now you can't do that with troosers.
    Chorus

    Led Zeppelin: The Lemon Song

Off their second album. A self penned blues song, but in an eclectic, electric Zep style. Note the masterful interaction of the musicians of this amazing band at it's creative peak. John Paul Jones does an amazing job on bass, Jimmy Page floats around his complex base riff like an iron butterfly. Robert Plant wails and moans and screams his way through the tune like only Plant ever could. Bonham on drums. A catchy, throbbing tune, you need to listen to it to gauge the complexity at work- Zeppelin just made it sound so easy.
This is a song that just gets better as you listen to it more. It compels your attention, from the cheeky lyrics to the casual mastery and interplay of the musicians. A unique museum piece from the Band all other bands must be measured by.

LCD Soundsystem - North American Scum

Nice track. With fairly humorous lyrics

    or

    The Macc Lads -SWEATY BETTY

    A legend of a song
She wore big knickers and she worked at the sewage farm.
Got my hands down her jeans and I nearly lost half my arm.
But after ten pints, she looked quite fit,
Couldn't wait to get my hands on her flabby tits.
Slap that and ride the ripples, just got to get my gob round her greasy nipples.
Flabby arse, sweaty breasts, thirty eight chins, she was a mound of flesh.
Sweaty Betty, she eats a lot of pies,
Sweaty Betty, she's got enormous thighs,
Sweaty Betty, have you smelled her breath?
Sweaty Betty, she'd crush a man to death.

I knew that she wanted me to shag her, so I stabbed her **** with my mutton dagger.
I couldn't believe the size of her bum,
She used to play for Wigan at the back of the scrum.
I've seen nowt like it since the day I was born,
But you know me, I'll shag owt that's warm.

Sweaty Betty, she eats a lot of chips,
Sweaty Betty, she's got massive tits,
Sweaty Betty, she's got a huge vagina,
Sweaty Betty, you'd fit a bus inside her,
She's so obscene, three tons of margarine,
She's like a lump of lard
But Sweaty Betty makes my willy hard.

Good stuff you good people. The only two I have in my collection so far are Sabang's Led Zep and MrsQ's LCD Soundsystem - both of which are in my new TD playlist - The others I shall be endeavouring to find.

^^Anyone wishing to listen to blackpanther's recommendation can find it available gratis at the wonderful BBC:

BBC - collective - six organs of admittance 'school of the flower'

I found it hypnotic and with a certain something, but I will have to have a few more listens before I can say for sure - At over 13 minutes it was certainly good value for the money that I didn't pay to listen to it for nothing.

This next track I have chosen is:

Artist: Jam & Spoon - Track: Neurodance Adventure from the album Tripomatic Fairytales 2001

Not sure how to describe it - 'mellow electronic' will have to suffice.

^"Darling, about that landscape-gardening firm that you hired...."

It would be amiss of me not to mention The Beloved. This is happy pop music and never fails to cheer me up. Many a time my tears of despair have been dried by a Beloved tune.

Most tracks are excellent (and sound pretty much the same) but for the purposes of this thread I will opt for:

Artist: The Beloved Track: Up Up and Away from the album Happiness
