    'Bottom' is back! (Sort of)

RIK Mayall and Ade Edmondson are reviving their cult characters Richie Rich and Eddie Hitler for a new BBC2 comedy show.

New six-part series Hooligans Island sees them swap their dingey flat for a tropical isle.

Ade said: Its been a while since I last worked with that complete b****** Rik and Im very much looking forward to bashing him about the head with various blunt objects.

Its the only language he understands.

Hooligans Island will air on BBC2 next year and was announced yesterday at the Edinburgh International Television Festival.

I remember him saying something about Rik being difficult to work with after he took a bashing around the head in his accident.

Downloaded the old series earlier in the year, originally as a young lad thought it was hilarious, now as a grumpy old git realise it was crap, deleted already.

I think these blokes have been on the downhill slide since The Young Ones folded.

Yup, did the same with 'The Young Ones' . Found it rather irritating!

I've aways been a grumpy old git, as I never found Bottom to be the slightest bit funny.

Bottom was a zany, young comedy sit-com.
It's been too long and they are too old now.I can't see it being a success.

Maybe if they went to the other extreme and did a Last of the Summer Wine type of thing, that could have some mileage in it because their fans are a lot older now.

Don't worry, it simply isn't funny. A Butlins redcoat telling a selection of Bernard Manning jokes in a school uniform would be more amusing.
