    3D Movies

What are the movies that should definitively be watched in 3D (in any) ?

I was about to watch HUGO and just read a critic saying that 3D is really a must for that movie. Should I watch it in 2D anyway or wait to find the 3D BlueRay version ? and where can I find it in Thailand ?

PS : We have the TV/DVD player 3D able, we just need to find the disk

Well obviously Avatar is a must, because most of the current technology was designed for it.

I'm told Prometheus is quite spectacular.

This will get you shitting your pants and turning the TV off and the lights back on, if its anything like the computer game I played .

Resident Evil: Afterlife (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment)

For fans Paul WS Anderson's fast-moving zombie franchise, buying this fourth 3D dimensional outing is a no-brainer. Even if you've not caught previous installments, the madcap mix of mutants and zombies make this a must-own 3D disc.

Shot with the Fusion camera system developed by James Cameron for Avatar, it's peppered with amazing stereoscopic sequences, from the rain-soden pre credit sting to a mesmerizing water-drenched battle between a big beastie and Heroes star Ali Larter.

While other 3D movies pull back from delivering out of the screen effects, RE:Afterlife shows no such reticence. If Milla Jovovich can lob something sharp out of the screen, that's exactly what she does.

It is a charming movie and could easily be watched twice so no reason to avoid it in 2D.

True, in the "shops behind the shops". I never bought any because until now I didn't have the player but I remember seing shelves full of them there.

And in Fortune IT Mall there was this shop selling movies you can't find anywhere else, a lot of old European films. I don't know if it's still there.

    ^^ So was I.

^ They don't seem to be "behind" anywhere, but they do ask you to wait while they go and collect them from their Aladdin's cave.

You have to burn those, don't you? I believe it's a bit of a process to get Blu Ray torrents working properly (though I might be wrong about that).

^ Depends on your media player.

    ^^ 1.3Gb isn't a native Bluray rip, it's a compressed version. 13-20Gb is typical for a 2 hour movie.

When was the last time you went shopping there ? I went last month, I found the prices quite expensive, up to B400 for a 3D 50 GB, B100 for a regular movie. And the selection of 3D movies was quite poor. I was thinking probably the inflation, everything is more expensive nowadays. But two days ago I went to Union mall, then it was in the range you said, B200-300 for a 3D, depending of the size and how many you buy, B70 for a regular movie.

I find these specialized mall like Pantip or IT mall less and less attractive. For regular stuff you can now buy everywhere for the same price. For more "specialized" items you find better price in the smaller malls and the people are usually nicer.
