Shows you how often I go shopping...
Chit, is that where the difficulty in producing coherent meals arises? give her a shopping list instead of telling her to buy foods that start with the letter P, G, B and S
This was last night thanks to my sweetheart Miss Fish.
Happy belated fathers day to all you mothers out there.
Oh, and Dilly can you have Montclair man drop off another bottle of the single barrel batch. Looks like I'm running a bit low on stocks.
Love those New Zealand green lip mussels. Allways more than happy to indulge.
Evan Williams? Good value for not top shelf hooch. Your partner has put on a nice meal.
Yes she has, thank you very much. As for the Evan Williams it does the trick and I think its only about 25usd a bottle around here.
Funny that in Laos I was picking up Jim Beam for 14usd for what costs 16usd here. It must be the taxes on the product and them wanting to be in the market in that area. I found some Scotch whiskey in the area for about 8usd and the lao lao in at about two bucks. I once tried some home brewed hooch in a plastic bag for 50 cents at the local "mini mart." Never again on that wicked stuff. I'm lucky I didn't go blind or the neighbors goat may have gotten a sack full.
See tomcat, I don't always avoid veggies. My haul today:
For the grand total of:
The sweet corn and some of the veggies in the bowl below were part of tonight's dinner. Fried green tomatoes on the menu Wednesday night. The salad will be for my lunches the rest of the week. Kale, leaf lettuce, Romaine, carrots, red onion, green onion tops and radishes. Have some nice ginger sesame dressing to put on it.
Healthy eater I am...
What use is that receipt?
Guess what cost what
seems expensive for a bag of fruit and veg.
That lot would cost under $5 in the UK.
I blame Brexit
Next you'll want me to use toothpaste...
I noticed that too. The cantaloupe was supposed to be $2.99...don't even see that on there.
The benefits of the devaluing FRN. It doesn't go very far these daze.
I got over that kind of thing last year.
Clab flied lice.
Can't go wrong with FGTs. I forgot to pick up a box of the Whistlestop FGT batter while there, so I'll use the Drakes used on my last batch of onion rings. I guess the sexy twenty-something farm girl that checked me out had me mesmerized.
None of those things are local, most of it is coming out of Florida. It's been so wet and rainy here they're having trouble getting their planting done. Doesn't sound good for local sweet corn later this season.
That sucks. Once upon a time at the end of the growing season, I'd get 300 ears that had been picked that morning and boil them up, cut the kernels off the cob and freeze bag them for the next year.
For Cyrille...my salad tonight. I used low fat salad vinegar as the dressing.

It's a Special Recipe of mine. I'll sell You the Recipe for your Rehab Center so your Patients will know they're getting nothing but the Healthiest Food.
Here's where I borrowed the recipe from, I had to watch the video several times. Believe me the whole trick is to keep a constant temperature when reducing the vinegar.
^ Sorry, the link's not working...I send it to you in repo message.
