Pickled asparagus is really nice in a Bloody Mary.

Sauerkraut, the only decision is how thin to slice it, oh and i put junipers in mine but not sure how easy they'd be to get in Thailand.

After doing the taste test on the pickles, they're a bit salty. We've replaced some of the brine with water to help balance things out.

We decided to make meatballs and gravy tonight...fry up some meatballs, then add them to a gravy and bake.....

The meatballs were lovingly sculptured after my left testicle....

In my special homemade gravy and then into to the oven...

I've got a plain baguette ready to dip into the gravy....garlic bread is simply too pedestrian for us....

I had to smash the meatballs down a bit as they were too big for the baguette....

    Very nice Topper!

What's the special recipe for the gravy?

    Looks like bolognese to me...

On the subject of pickets, I had a pickled egg with a pint of Guinness yesterday. Wish I hadn't.
Never suffered from flatulence with pickled gherkins rhough

    Bon appetit.

Missy threw this together. Not as colorful as Skkins. Good though. The pooch got the bone, I'll leave my testicals out of it this time.

Hey, it's been a while since I've seen some moobs. Who's up. Tommy?

Seen a few of my mates talking about it and the food looks proper. There's even a nooden soup with fishballs in one of the pics!

Funnily enough I visited the "restaurant" on valentines day.
The food was fvcking awful even by my standards.
However the Polish service and price was good.
Some tattooed haggard skank from Isaan with a massive mole on her nose interrupted our "meal" with her inane jabbering, which was a welcome relief from the oil drenched fodder that had been slung on a tin plate in front of me.
Lots of cheap charlies in there.

    Would I go back?

I'd rather visit Lou Macari's pie shop outside Old Trafford

    Oops wrong restaurant!

The above comments refer to a cheesy Thai restaurant called Thai Street Food, just off Albert Square.

Try Thai is fvcking spot on, sampled the early 2 course dinner menu for £12.99 last year.
Had the green curry and satay starters.
    Was damn reasonable!
    Nice ambience, busy and authentic.
Would visit again and try everything on the menu, getting hungry now...Might have to sling last night's cold pizza leftovers in the microwave

This is not a preaching sesion about the virtues of vegeterianism.
about a year ago I took five different medicines every day, a blood pressure medication, a cholesterol statin. a baby aspirin, omeprazole for my stomach, and a multivitamin.
A cardiologist friend of mine (his family holds from the same village in the old country as my mother) convicted me to try going vegetarian and see how it works out for me. He said that most afflictions are do to inflammation resulting from diet.
I tried it for a few months. No meat, pork poultry or dairy products. but I still eat fish. and every once in a while I treat myself to a good steak or meatballs.
I am now off of all of my meds, my BP consistently 130 0ver 70. will check my cholesterol again later today.
I like my veggies, so it is easy for me and in the US there are plenty of veggie burgers, veggie sausages, and no cholesterol egg beaters, But in Thailand, I find it difficult to maintain a vegetarian diet.
Many of the vegetables available in the US are not available here, no veggie burgers I can find, no decent tomatoes, and the veggies available are loaded with pesticide.
What is the deal with tomatoes here in LOS, love stuffed tomatoes and peppers, but can't find a decent tomato.
Anyway, I went to Tops (in Khon Kaen)today and got some very good looking Salmon
    Dinner-salmon-jpg
I asked if it was wild caught as farm raised salmon is loaded with antibiotics, PCB's.growth hormones , raised in an unnatural diet and environment etc.
They said it was wild caught. I don't believe it !!!! but not the less it was delicious raw, sliced in thin slices with a Soy Sauce, ginger and wasabi baste, with Some Tom on the side.

PS: CSFFan's meatball meal posted above makes my mouth water. next time try rolling the meatballs in flour before frying, it caramelises the outside , when I made them that way (i miss them so much) most of them never made it in the sauce.

...agree: have yet to find a flavorful tomato...though I have located in Tops (Central Chidlom) a purportedly Japanese cherry tomato brand that is barely passable...

Would have preferred a CSSFan style Meatball Sub but it's not Friday yet

So it's home made Pumpkin soup, and a healthy-ish fish'n'chips using baked Atlantic cod.
