I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt there, Chitty.

It was clearly misplaced 'cos you ain't gotta clue if you're confusing the Twisted Wheel with 42s and 5th ave.

You're not a Manc and never will be.

5th Avenue and 42street were scally venues, not my cup of tea.
Anything you need to know about the history of the Manchester club scene, give us a shout.

5th Ave and 42s were the first nightclubs you went to in Manchester when someone took you there, you fucking out of town fraud.

Now you're just talking out of your arsehole as per usual.
Give the Colombian marching powder a rest.

Chitty, the Twisted Wheel closed in 1971.

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twisted_Wheel_Club

If you think you were still going there in the 90s, while the indie kids were at 42s and the scallies were at Royales and Piccadilly 21s, I think you might be somewhat confused.

Have you been overdoing the oatcakes?

If Chitty was a groupie, this explains his movement. I bet he was noshing Peter Stringfellow

The club shut down in early 1971 because of a bylaw which prevented premises from staying open more than two hours into the following day. The closure of The Twisted Wheel gave the Golden Torch[at]its opportunity to take the Northern Soul crown for the next few years
The Golden Torch, more commonly known as The Torch, was a nightclub in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Opened as a mod venue, it later became important to fans of Northern soul. Peter Stringfellow was amongst the many DJs who at some time had a residency there.

I've now got images in my mind of Chitty driving back down the M6 in his Ford Cortina with Peter Stringfellow in flagrante...

You wankers are trying to rewrite a history of which you no nothing about, in order to wind me up.

I shall rise above it in this case

Check out the Northern Soul thread or the Mods and rockers thread.

One of the better Pumpkin soups I've had in a long while.
    Dinner-d1-jpg

Followed by a pulled beef samidge. Had plenty of pulled pork samidges before but saw pulled beef and had to try it. Glad I did too, very bloody nice

^ That's some damn fine eating.

Though I may have replaced the pumpkin soup with 3 or 4 pints of ale.

I really have to get some of those pretentious slate plates, to replace me pretentious wooden ones. You guys in Pattaya really do get some fairly decent nosh as reasonable prices. Probably one of the best things about living there.
