Peanut butter and strawberry jam on toast.

Here is a great English snack that's good any time of the day.
It's fairly easy to make and luckily has all the important food groups covered.

    Ingredients:

    Sliced white bread.
    Peanut butter.
    Strawberry jam.
    Toaster.
    Knife.

Put the bread in the toaster and when it's done use the knife to slap a layer of peanut butter on while the toast is still warm.

Then using the same knife smother the peanut butter with a layer of strawberry jam.

And serve with a mug of tea.

    Now that's tasty...
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

But not bad,bit sweet with the jam though.
I have phases sometimes peanut butter and jam,but my favorite mix is fried egg, cheese and brown sauce sandwich, make sure the yoke is runny.

Can't beat Lidl for price on the canned stuff..
I was thinking of calling the thread 'Toast' so we could all add our favorites, but thought I'd go with the quintessentially English "Peanut butter and strawberry jam on toast."

That is the gayest most anemic 'toast ' I've ever seen
It even makes Thailand breakfast toast look like a sambo,
    this is toast
and it should be finger burning hot , not pansy 'warm'

and not another camp square plate
have you been to the same posh shop as Nigleandjan ,
and how many spatulas does a man need ?
there are at least 12 there ..........

Are you left handed too ?

    jam looks tasty though !

    Indeed.

I use floor vinyl adhesive as it has less crap added than peanut butter.

You really haven't missed anything. Kids in the States grow up eating this stuff as mothers there are too lazy or busy to prepare proper meals. I shudder at some of the meals I've eaten just 'cause it was 'quick & easy'.

Well there are some good things about America.. PBJ's, Bill Hicks, Fender, Hendrix, err... ok well not that many things.
Nothing wrong with peanut butter and jam on toast, it's well balanced and highly nutritious, it's got all the food groups, protein, carbs, fruit, vitamins and the others ones too.

You should change the name to the crazy snack thread
Peanut butter and jelly is definitely American, I first tried it at age 25, not bad

I used to like tomato sauce on toast.

The Breville is a great invention, you can conjure up all kinds of tastebud sensations in one of them

I suppose that peanut & jelly sandwitches are better than that horrible stuff from 'down under' - marmite. That goo is positively revolting.

Crazy snacks? Tomato sauce on toast is nothing, when I was 3 or 4 I apparently used to insist on putting tomato sauce on WEETABIX! With milk.

There is even photographic evidence of it somewhere in my mums house!
