    Apple sauce

Got my granchildren (7 of them) here for Sunday lunch.
Belly pork with plenty of crackling and all the trimmings.
The small ones some time strugggle to finish, just want ice cream !
Found a cure in Thailand, when making the apple sauce use your usual recipe but i now add a star anise or two and use 1/2 cooking and 1/2 eating apples to sweeten instead of sugar. Result empty plates

Good concept in your making apple sauce. I like the idea of apple sauce as a desert. I've always favored cinnamon on my apple sauce but that might be just a Yank thing.

^ Cinnamon is good with apples too but a little too strong for the children, it seems to over power the apples.
I like to add sultanas too, but voted out by my grandkids !
