Don't let me anywhere near a kitchen!

My current maid gets sundays off and comes back monday lunchtimes, so this means that I left to my own devices re: dinner.

Unlike when i was living in BKK i live a little bit far from the city center so the going out options are somewhat limited.

Anyway in the tradition of FF's et al culinary skills I wanted to show off my extremely talented efforts last Sunday.

Lucky the maid always cooks enough food for 6 people so I had some leftovers in the fridge.

here's the empty containers that contained the remainders of .. i think it was friday nights dinner.

(and being a tidy domesticated man and all i even put them into the sink, thats metro-sexual, that is)

then the next step was to heat up the food - i was feeling a bit lazy so i just dumped the lot into a frying pan and turned the sucker on....

theres some green vegies stuff with chilli and garlic, some sort of chicken curry in the top corner and beef and vegies with plenty of garlic in the bottom right.

I was always feeling a bit lazy to work out how to use the rice cooker so i just threw the plastic container of left over rice into an inch of water in a pan - heat it gently with a lid on it and hey presto - hot rice!

i almost forgot to take a piccie of the gourment delight that was awaiting me b4 starting - but here it is......

some pics half way thru ....... hmmm it tasted a lot better than it looks here....

and of course a few glasses of the good stuff...... (well it's not exactly the old dutch Marmers ... but better than nothing.) (i think i had 6 of them....and that only cos the fridge was empty after that and theres no 7/11 around to buy more - would a trip to the supermarket and i was well satifisfied by that time......

2day I already ate half the leftovers from yesterday and couldnt be bothered to do it all again, so i've just rang McD's delivery....

Doesnt get better than that - does it fella's!

    ^ abt the maid, no.

abt tearing ppls passports up and letting ur missus deal with the fallout yes.

BTW maids here are much cheaper than BKK - live gets 600 000 rupiah per month form a farang ( the indo price is half that ) - which is a lot of big
numbers but translates as approx 3000 baht per month.

which is less than i spend on a single night out!

I was watching a movie with a friend.
I fell in love with the actress.
She was playing a part that I could understand.

Mods - can I change the title of this thread to something more appropirate. I think it's misleading the likes of NickA whose discussions of love in the context of maids is entirely misconstrued.

perhaps, "Homecooking to challenge FF's chilli stuff" or something like that....

I have told him off - he's having a sulk and playing the harmonica.

Yes but your an Aussie, they are hardly renowned for there culinary delights are they, from my understanding of Aussie land most of them cant even afford ovens and hobs and have to resort to BBQS to cook on, although I did read an article yesterday about how nearly 10 percent of Australian homes now have inside toilets, another amazing fact in the same article was that 30 percent of Australian males have no penis or an extremely deformed penis due to being bitten in the said region by black widow spiders while using the toilet.

plenty of mustard, dead horse and chilli to go - loads of fresh bread. mmm

dont forget tinnies of either Bundy and Coke or Jim Beam. Plenty of cold beer also.

I don't think I'll be able to make it to Jakarta this weekend, but you're more than welcome to have a go on my swanky Spanish BBQ when you're in Thailand next.

    Get it right DD.

It's redback spiders on the toilet seats, not black widows.

I think you call it a meatball but ours are bigger.

Minced beef, lots of chopped onion, any herbs you have, also any other leftovers in the fridge, bound with an egg, rolled in flour and cooked in a pan.
The gravy made from the pan is really good what with all the blood running out of the meat and then the rissoles are simmered in the gravy for just a while.

The eating variety are not to be confused with the nickname of our RSL (Returned Servicemens League) clubs, which because of the similarity in the sound of the name are invariably called 'The Rissole' as in 'I am going to the Rissole for a beer.'
