Has anyone ever tried this as a dieting tool and if so how about the results?
Someone told me last week that they fast every Sunday to help maintain a healthy weight. I have trouble maintaining a healthy weight so I'm giving it a try today.

Sounds pretty toturous. Why don't you have a day or two a week where you just eat fruit and veg and drink only water?
From careful observations, it seems to me that modern Westerners spend far to much time concerned {and manipulating} their state of well being - instead of just being well.
I am slowly losing weight ( intentionally ) - no sarcastic comments from E.G. please- Alternate days of fruit and water / normal meals - it works !
Call me old-fashioned, but the "varied diet and exercise regularly" regime has worked well for me for over 40 years.
Me and DD have been fasting regulalry.
The results of my pic to the left speak for themselves....I used to have a much bigger box.
as for DD....well some people just get fat
I've never been able to fast. I you tell me I can't have something, that's all I can think about!

To answer the original question, I know someone who fasts regularly for weight control. Really often...like once or twice a week. It doesn't make sense to me because it seems it would slow her metabolism down, but she is very healthy and looks great.
