My home made Bacon plus strong cheese plus onions S&P done in my sandwich maker,
one should always consider the well being of ones bowels at breakfast time and so hot porridge with raisins, prunes and honey is my breakfast of choice here in thailand, followed with papaya and plain yogurt, all washed down with good coffee.
where can you find scottish kippers in thailand?
Hmmm... Not very nutritional, but quite tasty with a bit of orange marmalade...
A good chicken/beef noddle soup and a vietnamese iced coffee! Hate fried bread, baked beans and hp saurce!
Sex, the breakfast of Champions or failing that a full english would go down very well, however, my doctor prefers me to have rolled oats (instant porridge variety) and fruit juice. Apparently rolled oats are a cholesterol vacuum cleaner.
That was going to be my next question. I am in UK until next wednesday. Don't think they allow duty free kippers?Originally Posted by taxexile
I'm a big fan of the Irish breads. Potato and soda. That combined with a proper English, no tomato, and black pudding does the job. Boning the wife also tops things off.

I don't know where you will find the herring but I do a good smoked salmon kippers and you can buy that from my wholesale supplier in BKK also.Originally Posted by melvbot
But I prefer mine just a little more than kippered, so I smoke them at 125*F for a day or so.
IHOP
Their blueberry syrup is OK. I'd rather have homemade chokecherry syrup. I never eat the hash browns or sausages there -- not so good.
At home, I usually have vanilla yoghurt with cranberries and psyllium (this husk stuff, tastes good -- sorta nutty), Italian sesame bread toast, OJ or apple juice, and a few mugs of espresso coffee with half'n'half real cream. If Bear is around, I'll have a vitamin tablet. Maybe a hunk of fruit if there's any in the basket. Sometimes a BLT or a real cheesey omelette. I often eat leftovers -- sushi, pizza, whatever. Depends on what jumps out of the fridge after I turn on the coffeemaker.
Aren't pancakes flapjacks?
If I am in Taiwan or China - Hot soya milk with an egg beaten into it and a 'silk bread' ( a sort of large bun/small loaf made from a mixture of rice and wheat flour - the rice dough is like thick noodles in a bundle wrapped up in a thin layer of wheat flour pastry, steamed and then glazed with honey and popped under the grill to crisp the outside )- break it up into pieces and dip in the soya milk. You can stick your coffee/croissants up your bum after you have tried this .
In Malaysia - Nasi Lemak !!
Here it is a slice of brown wholemeal bread and some olive oil to dip it into, with a slice or two of smoked pork and some halloumi or feta cheese.
( or when pension day is approaching - anything in the bloody fridge !)
^^ DD, just depends on the locale, but, yep. My Da made flapjacks on Gram's old wood-fired griddle stove when we went out to the old farm. Fresh butter from the neighbours and some kinda home-made syrup.
^
Had a Canadian friend in UK who used to make flapjacks or pancakes whenever her dad used to send her a gallon tin of maple syrup !
Lovely but I could never manage more than half a dozen before I would have to have a lie down - they are so filling !!!
This come in a close second after the "Fat Bastards Breakfast" and especially after a night on the piss.
Mushy Peas & a little Spotted Dick for a chaser!
Since I moved here, I found out that musali and fresh milk is very handy for breakie. Sometimes I put banana in it too, not bad really.
So you tried muesli and Sour milk first Sharon?
