    Bitching about taco shells...

These are the taco shells I am forced to buy on a regular basis from Foodland. I am getting sick and tired of the broken shells. The company (DANITAS) says 8 taco shells and I am lucky if I end up with 3.

Manufactured by Danitas Quality Food Co. LTD.
1361 Soi Lad Prao 94 Lao Prao Road
    Wangthongland, Bangkok
    02-530-3713, 02-934-5295

Any ideas for a complaint letter?

You may as well buy fuckin tortilla chips as buy them fuckin things!
Dantitas makes a regular soft corn tortilla too. Take the broken shells back; get red in the face, yell and tll him t buy the real deal! The dantitas soft corn tortillas are pretty good.

Another company here makes and eve bettr corn tortilla, little smaller 'bout like the tortills you get in real mexican carnecerias you know, them 75 cent tacos with meat, onions, cilantro & some green sauce and fat jalapeno on the side? They are pretty damn good and freeze well in my experience. Wanna call the brand chaco but that ain't it. thisnk it starts with a ch...

fill the broken ones with dog shit and post then to the factory.

It's childish but you will feel better for it

    Sensible plan B....

Whilst inside foodland get 2 boxes and find a quiet spot. Open both boxes and make one broken bits box and one box for you. Put the broken bits box back on the shelf.

Would take them back to the store first, - and you don't know at which stage of handling they got broken.

Best thead of the year. You said it god bless ya, its just bullshit. Sure you can fry them yourselves as my family did in the early 60's, but now we have the fat and choleseral factor.

You can get El Paso at Villa but still no real guarantees.

I know Danny, I will try to give hime a call.

No worries about cholesterol though if you ise a good oil.
...Worried about fat while eating tacos

BTW the best brand of tortillas is "Charro" small, maybe 6 inch in diameter. Fresh, they make decent soft tacos without frying, more than a day old or frozen, try a very short time ovr steam to loosen 'em up viola! pliable soft taco wrapper.
Nothin like a fried shell though.

or because they dont know how to buy the corn tortillas and fry them themselves. I am surprised at how astonished some people seem to be when i tell them i fry my own taco shells, and they are sooo much better.

I think these hard taco shells are some kind of "gringo" trick to fuck up mexican food.
I've spent much time in Mexico and never saw a hard taco shell!
Tacos are usually served on small soft corn tortillas.
At least in Mexico City when I stayed 2 years. My favorite evening snack was tacos al pastor. They slice the meat off a vertical big rotating meat grilling thing much like the Gyros you see in greek places. I'm not sure what kind of meat it is.(local kitty cat!)(taco de gato!)
Anyway they slice the meat right on to the small tortillas sprinkle on some fresh cilantro and a dab of pineapple which is skewered on the top of the rotating meat. Top them off with the array of chili salsas at the table. Yummy!
