I hope now that everyone does realize that I hate the flavor and even the smell of sheep, lamb or mutton, and I am not theonly one that thinks that because years ago i read somewherre that if that thin membrane that looks like a plastic or celophane film on the outside of lamb was removed it would take that sheep taste away, and I even tried that and it was bullshit, just like the rest that say that sheep is very good to eat, they eat it cause they was raised to and have never got no smarter, just growed up,,, now I have thawing a hunk of snakehead that has been frozen 2 days for the wife supper and for mine I have thawing 2 not one but 2 , 1 1/4 inch thick steaks that weigh 350 g each, so I will have 700g of Prime Angus striploin steak just barely cooked and RARE char broiled..

| Thailand Travel Forum | Now if this is what you mean by Mince pie, I have eaten it all my life til my grandma died, then no more. I you mean something else I still say you are full of shit. Sabang says=Best mince pie- Shepherds pie. Things You’ll Need:
Place beef, suet, brown sugar , molasses, cider, currants, raisins and citron in a large pot. Step2 Stirring occasionally, cook slowly over medium heat until the sugar and citron melt. Step3 Add the apples and cook until tender. Step4 Add the brandy, cinnamon, mace, cloves, nutmeg, allspice and salt, and cook 15 minutes, stirring often. Step5 Spoon the mixture into clean, hot jars, leaving 1 inch of space between the top of the mincemeat and the edge of the jar. Step6 Close the jars and process in a pressure cooker at 10 pounds pressure for 20 minutes, or if you don't need to store the mincemeat indefinitely, forget the processing and simply store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Step7 Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Step8 Line a 9-inch pie pan with pastry dough. (See "How to Make Pie Crust Dough.") Step9 Fill the lined pie pan with prepared mincemeat. Step10 Take the remaining dough and make a top crust. Crimp the edges and cut vents in the top to let steam escape. Step11 Bake the pie 10 minutes. Step12 Reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake 40 minutes longer, until the top of the pie is browned. Serve with whipped cream or a hard sauce |

| ^ Mince pie is made from minced meat, of which my fave is Shepherds pie, made with minced lamb- I;m talking 'savoury' mince pies. Of course there is the sweet Xmas type mince pie, made with minced dried fruit and so on, different thing. To be honest, that recipe above sounds awful.

| Thailand Travel Forum | I bought a case of Iceland Halibut fillet and it was good, but not what I expected from never seeing an Iceland halibut, I have only seen the North Pacific Halibut and those can run from 20 pounds to 500 it seems, some are huge but very rarely kept as they are the breeders and not that good to eat either. I will have to try that Cod as I like good cod. Maybe should smoke some, but it be more than the salmon at 220 a Kg |

| ^ I'm not sure if it would be a success or not BG, but might be worth smoking up some cheapo local fish, such as Pla Nihn or Tab Tim- and seeing how it works out. |

I do not do it for sale but for me to eat and share with friends, and my friends can pay my costs per kilo if they really want some to take home, same as with the bacon I make, if you want a kilo or 2 then pay me what it costs me to finish the product. I asked a friend if he wanted some smoked salmon ,as we were eating some for lunch at my house, And if he did , how much as I was going to make an order and would get him some fish to do along with mine. No he said, if I want some I will just come and buy some from you., So I informed him that I was not in the business of ordering, preparing and then storing stuff for sale as it was a hobby and I would not do it, if he wanted some, he could pay for the fish or meat, I would do it and then he could take it home and store it himself, He suggested that when I get A roast of beef from my freezer that I also take out one for him and cook both and then he pay me for the meat and what ever labor I thought was fair. I filled my freezer with all the beef I could get in it when I found out that my supplier was not getting any more of my favorite beef, and cowboy ordered a large order too, but mine got there first and when his was made they did not have enough to fill his order but did ship him what they had left, so now it is gone, except what is in his freezer and mine and I gonna eat all I have myself, or at least it will be eaten at my table with friends. When Peter came to visit, he brought some stuff, we sat and bullshit, then we run the grinder and done some meat and bullshit during that time too, Then we put it in the smoker and sat and bullshit some more, and in the end, we had got to know each other, had a good time and he went home with a cooler and some sausage that he made. Thats what it is all about to me, I can't set on my ass and do nothing, fact I think I go down to the kitchen now and make a double batch of Tapioca pudding and put it in small cups in the fridge and eat it during the week, with coco milk on it.

| Whats the best beef that this supplier has these days....not imported stuff, local.....if you have ever tried local stuff. I have a question.....if you are dying of lung cancer....why then are you to scared to eat local fish ?? Kind of like.....why do they disinfect the area before inserting the needle for prisoners on death row ?

Mince pies don't have apple in them for a start. And cinnamon??? Sound like you're confusing your apple pies with your mince pies.

| Thailand Travel Forum | Very good too, my grandma made it witj beef, deer, elk, canned it in quart canning jars just as he did with vegs from the garden, meat that we could not eat before it spoiled and she has special pie pans she used that I never saw at onyone else house, it took 2 quarts of mince meat to fill one of em and as near as I can remember that recipe posted was as near to hers as any I have seen. But no one ever has been mad enough to claim that English grub was of a world renowned quality so I do understand why you limeys have not heard of Mince meat pies like we eat in the good ol USA. And minced means chopped up with a big knife on a block while ground beef or hamburger comes thru a power grinder with an auger feed and a set or cutters running again a grinder plate to grind meat,, what a bunch or silly fuckers. |

Ground beef, beef mince or hamburger meat (in North America) or mince(d) meat (in the rest of the English speaking world) is a ground meat product, made of beef finely chopped by a meat grinder. It is used in many recipes including hamburgers and cottage pie. Ground beef - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Done with a knife, i'd call that diced beef. But like, who gives a Toss. I like lamb, you don't. Good on us both. My wifes cousin is here at the moment, and he went out for about fifteen minutes and caught some lizards for lunch- he likes 'em, and precious few left where he lives in an industrial part of Bangkok. Good for him.
