I buy it dried in bottles at the market, some is ground but easier to find leaf.

No chance of mistaking the 2 for each other, sage is small tight leafs and bay is large single leaf. Bay is a green and sage is a grey green. and will either be leaf, rubbed or ground.

Knowing the Thai name is always a help. This website is very useful. Many of the spices in it have Thai names. Unfortunately, none for Sage but if you show a Thai the picture you may get a name.Originally Posted by sun shade
