Definatly milk in first when it comes to the perfect brew
Ah yes, the proper thread for the matter.
I'll quote myself.
Pot you obviously have no idea how to make a decent brew so I will retract for you any future invitations you may have had for me to come round your for a cuppa tea. You are though welcome to come round mine to be properly schooled on the subject.Originally Posted by The Fresh Prince

To be honest I haven't had a cup of tea for around 5 years so I don't really know, just bumping the thread
I like coffee, milk in first.
Tho i'd like to try a cup of tea your style
Ocha. But coffee and creamo is my morning fav.
Milk in tea? How uncouth. A slice of lemon is much more refined.
^ not my cup of tea that
As long as were into The Tea Thread, apart from your bantys and debates of preperation technique, we could easily examine the type of teas that one might prefer. Or the rich history of teas. Outside of the stereotypes, Asians {partucularly Chinese} take tea in diversely. Some teas in Hong Kong, and other places, can fetch as much as $US600-700 per ounce....one of those great historic commodities!

I'm a bit partial to Twinnings English Breakfast tea at the moment. But my favorite is Yorkshire Tea. Like tea used to be. (I'm not from Yorkshire BTW)
Not much tea sold in your boozer I bet Princey......?
Quite a bit actually, but mostly drank by me.
I used to be a PG Tips man, but now I'm a 'whatever is on offer' when I need to replenish stocks, sort of guy.
Quite like Dilmah tea from Oz as well.
Hate Earl Grey and any other poncey smelling stuff.
I gave up on all that milk nonsense ages ago, no sugar either.
I wouldn't survive without tea!
That japanese green tea with milk in looks bloody discusting.
I thought you looked a bit caffeine affected last time I saw you. Had eyes the size of Marty Feldman's and that brings me to the next question.Originally Posted by The Fresh Prince

Can anyone educate me about the facts and with regard to this theory (Coffee verses Tea and caffeine content)?
I'm on Typhoo at the moment, thanks to my Mum & her fiance. Forgotten how nice it could be compared to the horses' pee you can get here.
WikiAnswers - Does tea have more caffeine than coffeeTea leaves do contain more caffeine than coffee beans. However when brewed into a beverage a cup of coffee will generally have 3X the amount of caffeine than a same sized cup of tea. However caffeine values for both beverages vary widely depending on the type of beans/leaves used and the brewing method as well as the amount of beans/leaves used.
^^^ I think that in its dry state, tea has more caffeine, and when brewed up, coffee has more caffeine.
8-ounce Beverage / milligrams
Coffee, Drip 115-175
Coffee, Brewed 80-135
Coffee, Espresso (2 ounces) 100
Coffee, Instant 65-100
Tea, iced 47
Tea, brewed, imported brands (avg.) 60
Tea, brewed, U.S. brands (avg.) 40
Tea, instant 30
Tea, green 15
Hot cocoa 14
Coffee, Decaf, brewed 3-4
Coffee, Decaf, instant 2-3
Looks like coffee has more if this chart is correct.

I just had a really strong cup of tea with 2 imported English tea bags (as I normally do) and it has certainly given me a bit of a lift.
Coffee never seems to affect me as much and I normally have a cuppa (coffee) with biscuits or cake and before going to bed and I always fall asleep, almost immediately.
I really like Green Tea and friends often bring me it back from China. I bought a packet of Thai Green Tea called Hana but it just tastes like freshly cut grass.
^^You've gotta let the sugar sit on the bag until all the sugar goes dark tea coloured.
^^ The Chinese Thais here drink both hot and cold chinese tea with about everything they eat.
The imported Chinese tea is quite nice and I find I drink more and more of it especially with a meal.
Apparently Chinese herbal tea (normally hot) helps break down the fatty food and aids in digestion.
I agree with LT on the coffee thing. As a kid the family always had a cup of coffee before going to bed... TP
