Make a curry just like the UK Curry Restaurant - Lamb/Chicken/Beef Dopiaza!!

    Hi All

Here is another recipe which uses the massalla gravy that you have the recipe for on here, this one is my favourite....

    Ingredients - to serve 2

3 chicken breasts or 400g beef or 400g lamb
    2 tsp curry powder
2 1/2 Onions (1 finely chopped the remainder sliced into 1" pieces)
    1 tsp grama massalla
    1/2 tsp chilli powder
    4cm fresh ginger (grated)
    4 cloves garlic (crushed)
2 ladels MASSALLA GRAVY (recipe on another thread)
    5 tbs veg oil
    sm bunch corriander
1 mild chilli (de-seeded and finely chopped)
2 bell peppers (1 green and 1 red sliced into 1" pieces)
    2 tsp sugar

    • Fry the 1" onion a bell pepper pieces in a little oil for 15 mins on a medium heat, once transulcent take out of the pan and leave to the side.
    • Add remaining oil and fry the ginger, garlic and chilli for 3 mins.
    • Add the finely chopped onion and cook for 5 mins
    • Make a paste of the curry and chilli powder with a little water (Ketchup consistency) add to the pan and cook it off for 5 mins
    • Add the meat and cook for 10 mins
    • Add the onion and peppers that we put aside earlier
    • Add the massalla gravy and stir everything in, leave to simmer for 20 mins, if it drys out add more gravy.
    • Add the sugar and stir in
    • Add the chopped corriander just before serving
You now have (another) "Authentic" UK style curry

Thanks Bogso, I've got all that gravy to use up, I gave a tub of it to my Brit neighbour who's a curry eater too.
