    Recipe Needed

Does anyone have a recipe for "Pla Thot Sam Rot" (a whole fish fried with chili, tamarind, and some other stuff). I have a strange craving for this at the moment. There is a East Asian grocery store, so I can buy all the ingredients and give it a go. Or, more likely, buy all the ingredients and pester my friend's Thai wife to "show" me how to make it.

There's a recipe at http://www.bottu.org/recettes/recette085.htm which may help.

    (Though it is in French.)

SEASONING 1/4 of fish sauce cup. 1/4 of palm sugar cup. 3 spoons with tomato sauce soup. 1/4 of juice cup of tamarin hot red peppers. 3 spoons with soup of small hot red peppers. 5 spoons with finely chopped garlic soup. 1/4 of aromatic cup of ginger. THE RECEIPT Rub fish with salt, wait 10 minutes then make fry it approximately 15 minutes with average fire, until the two sides are well gilded. Drain and lay out fish on a dish. Mix all the ingredients necessary to the seasoning. Pour this preparation on fish and strew with sheets of coriandre. Be useful immediately.
