    Turkey V Goose?

    Hi All
With the parents retiring to a small bungalow it has been decided that I (with the bigger house) will be hosting Xmas this year...

I look forward to my Xmas meal, pigs in blankets, stuffing, bundles of veg...I love it. However I have never been one for Turkey, im thinkning this year i'm going to go for Goose. Does anyone have any experience of cooking it?

And if christmas dinner was up to you, what would you go for? Ham, beef, turkey, goose?

    All advice appreciated, thx
    Bogso

Turkey has always been so dry! Why not do what we are doing in OZ now! >> lots of salads & fresh prawn. Also nothing beats roast pork glazed with pineapple juice!

What about a whole large fish baked in oven with spices can be eaten hot & remain vcold with home made mayo!

And goose fat, believe it or not, actually has positive health benefits.

Its some sort of pommy tucker Johnny, I think its sausage wrapped in bacon and cooked somehow, for the poms that counts as exotic food.

Yea, that and sometimes they are also wrapped in a dough and cooked, Thai make em all the time, but anytime you buy pastry here you are taking a chance on getting wieners or bacon or shredded pork that looks and tastes like burlap in a turnover instead of fruit.

The Chinese can cook goose, duck and pigeon like on one else.
If there was turkey in China, they'd be the best at them too.
