I would have put banana first.

Where does Longan (my favourite) come?

I would have had guava in the top ten and would have relegated mangosteen because I can't remember what it is....I'd also swap jack fruit for lamyai....Jack fruit stuffed with sweet kao-niao is scrumptious and I suspect very fattening.

Apples and pears sell well here, too.
Nothing to write home about, though.

    Probably imported from China.

I'd also have had guava in the top ten, but would have kept mangosteen which would be in the top 5. I wouldn't have jack fruit or lamyai because I don't know what they are, and would have dragon-fruit instead. The seeds make your poo look like it has freckles though.

Benbaaa's posted a picture of mangosteens elsewhere and now that I know what they are they've been re-promoted in my list. Jackfruit is the yellow sea-shell like fruit that comes in the durian size container without the big spikes.....just describe it like that at the greengrocers and they're bound to understand you, either that or they will call the police. I think lamyais anre like longans, but am too lazy to look it up. I like dragon fruit - it tastes like ice cream.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

I've heard of custard apples, but are you sure you aren't just posting rude words for the others in an attempt to embarrass us in the greengrocers GoW?

Spainard, now that we've told you all about fruit, please could you tell us all about vegetables. And I mean all. Don't miss anything out. Thanks.
