    Where our salt comes from.

Most of us put salt on our food from time to time here in Thailand. Did you ever wonder where that salt comes from. No, not a factory, but from the sea. This is outside of BKK in the Samut Songkhram province.

We have all seen fields of water like this.

The water eventually evaporates and a machine is then used to smash the remaining salt.

The salt is first swept into small piles.

    Then formed into big piles.

Soon the workers end up with shot. The reason for the shape is the salt finishing factories will come out and measure the salt 'block' and buy according to the measurments.

I would like to get Thai salt before it has been refined to the stage it is sold. I have never seen salt so damn salty in my life. I put 1/32 of a teaspoon on a whole bag of microwave popcorn and ruined it. Damn.

HB you are telling lies again.

It is all the love juice from the used jonnies fron Nana and Pattaya put on big baking tins and dried in the sun before being bagged.

That is where the salt really comes from.

Bloody sea, you are going to tell me next that water comes from clouds.
