    Spanish tortilla

This is how it should be done! Anyone want to have a go and post up your effort? I'm in...

    Ingredients

    Method

    1. Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a small heavy-based frying pan that's about 20cm/8in in diameter. Add the onion and fry for 5 minutes.
    2. Add the pepper and potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cover with a lid and gently cook over a low heat for about 15–20 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and the potatoes are cooked through. Transfer to a bowl and wipe the pan clean.
    3. Beat the eggs in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Pour the eggs into the bowl with the cooked mixture.
    4. Add the remaining oil to the pan. Carefully pour in the egg mixture and sprinkle with parsley. Cook on a medium heat until the sides and top have just set and the base is lightly golden-brown. When the middle is set, carefully slide onto a plate.
    5. Put the pan on top of the omlette and flip over to cook the other side for 3–4 minutes, or until golden-brown all over and just cooked through. Slide onto a plate to serve.(this is the tricky part)

    It's potato omelette.

Always found it underwhelming. I'd eat it as bar food....could never be bothered making it.

Proper Spanish Tortilla with a drop or two of Tabasca sauce and a galleon of San Miguel proving up a tapas bar in rural Spain with a view of the Mediterranean , what's not to like.
    Bueno.

It's Tortilla in Spain, Spanish omelette is a different dish.

Are you referring to Mexican Tortillas?

    It’s a frittata. Love ‘um.

Will get around to making one in the next week or so.

Won’t be flipping mine over in the pan. What a mess! The broiler is a better way to cook the top.

Sorry snubs. Different sorts of tortillas in the Spanish speaking world. What you may refer to as a Spanish omelette is indeed called tortilla española in Spain.

Of course tortillas that norteamericanos are familiar are the corn and wheat flour flat cakes.

    They're all good.
    pues, estamos aqui

^ Yeah, that's what they call it and they'd be correct in doing so. Call it a spaceship if you want, but in Spain it's still a tortilla española.

^^ True enough. It's not a big thing like how to slice toast.

Travelled extensively world wide and Spain is a favourite of mine hence the Spanish food, you have come onto this thread solely to cause trouble and proved yourself beyond doubt to be an aggressive idiot.
Visited Thailand several Times and have a connection there, what's your excuse for being on a Thai forum?

Never been to Pattaya, although from what ive heard you'll fit in just fine if you can scrape together the airfare and find the way out of Mommy's basement.
