My missus is discovering she enjoys cooking western food (and eating!)..... does anyone out there know of a Thai cook book or website on basic western dishes your own lady uses to sharpen her "tam ahan Farang" skills? Any info?
Cheers.

Not to be rude but how about a basic cookbook?
Totally agree with AO. My wife learned all the basics from "The Joy of Cooking", a timeless classic. Then went to chef school some years later. Unless you're saying it must be in Thai language....if so, no clue.
Mine went to a local college and did a proper diploma in cooking along with hygiene cert. She couldn't cook for toffee when I met her... lived on mama like most students; but she now cooks most things to decent restaurant standard - certainly her Thai food is better than anything I've ever paid for, and I'm not the only one to think that. So I'd forget books, and send her down to the local college for a proper course with a proper chef - you'll never look back!
just bored and home alone. playing with you mate. That or Betty's was the one to have.
Nice 1 spicy. Now you mrs. can get plump and pimply like all the western hags

Growing Old Disgracefully!
If you pop down to any of shopping mall, you will usually find a book sale going on and they have loads of Western cookbooks in Thai - bread making, Italian cooking, steaks, baking,.
I even saw one with that horrible British cuisine in it - black puddin', brawn, jellied eels and crap.....
If they do not have a book sale, most Thai bookstores have them as well.
This was Mrs Borey's introduction to western cooking. It is in both English and Thai. It's 40 years old. May be a newer version available somewhere.
i find that showing her/telling her once and then complaining loudly when she gets it wrong works quite well. i do go hungry quite a lot though...
You need a copy of Farang Food by Gill Bater, recipes explained and translated into Thai. The book is printed with each page split into Thai and English used to be 450 baht.
The " Australian Womens Weekly " have some fabulous cook magazines ,, I usually buy em at the boot sales
cookingwithpoo.com -
Better than you would think
Charmaine Solomon - 'Complete Asian Cookbook'.
Buy this & you need no other.
Her panties are showing...
