British Style Christmas Mince Pie Recipe suggestions.

    Hi all,

I was approached by a Scottish Chef Friend of mine last night and he asked whether my wife can make proper mince pies for this years festive season.

He claims he will need 1,000's of them as he can sell them throughout Thailand if they are good.

I have looked at internet recipes and some claim a crumble topping and others claim a pastry topping and as I have never tried one don't know the best one to attempt.

It is without doubt my missus can make it perfect but would appreciate some of the experienced members here to give me some suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

Didn't Dildo Ramsey do up a highly successful thread last year about how to make perfectly burned mince pie imitations?

Has to be a pastry topping. I've never seen them with a crumble topping.

LT ask the Chef what he's looking for that's a lot of work, know any bakers sub contract it out they may have the commercial pie maker machines.

Currently a toss up between Aldi's Luxury ones and Marks and Spencers All Butter ones. Both very nice.
