Cannot stand it..
Going to my mums for dinner again.. apparently sausages, mashed potato and cabbage is on the menu.
I can hardly contain my excitement.

Why not get a take away of her favourite dish
I like oriental food yet UK haddock is hard to match whether from the chippy or with steamed jerseys few greens steam at home for the price of a pint voila

Lovely British breakfast......
Ever occur to you that you mum is just shit at cooking?
^Fair call Bob.
But did it ever occur to him he should learn to cook and invite his Mum over for dinner instead?.
^^^ M'mmm, luvly. Given the liberal dose of chicken blood gloop that comes with about every bluddy noodle soup around here, I do miss a good black pud. Too many beans and not enough egg- but otherwise a fine meal. With HP, of course. Or a sploosh of Worcester.

You are not seriously suggesting Thai food is inferior to that fooking Dodger rubbish are you ?
You do live in the sticks though huh.
Yes tez, I live in the real Thailand- slow down, and u might even get to njoy it too. In the meantime there's always the bangkok hilton.
When I haven't had that dodger rubbish for a while, I would devour a live snake for it. When I haven't had that Thai noodle gloop for a while, likewise.
Variety be the spice of life.

Na, pile of shit that post.
Firstly I'm comin North on one of my road trips next month, I will love it as per usual. It's simply wonderful up there this time of year.
But after a few weeks I'm fuking off back to Bangkok.
Regards eating that British rubbish , it will never happen.
It's simply life threatening crud.
You enjoy it though mate.
Lovely Thai food all the way for me.
Sausage and mash and you're complaining? My mouth's watering at the thought as I sit in a restaurant in KL faced with some asian shit that I can't even pronounce
Some people.

^Sausage and Mash is always nice, easy to make too. So come on then SP, put something like this together, invite your Mum over, and post a pic in The Dinner thread. Or continue to whine, your call...

I had sausage n mash at the posh Gordon Ramsay place at T5 Heathrow yesterday and lovely it was too. Almost enough to make me stay in Blighty.
I signed up for the Velocity app and got a tenner off. £12 including three scoops of sorbet (mango, coconut and lemon, thanks for asking) before boarding Bastard Airways to KL (London- Barcelona-london -kuala Lumpur for £160 , not a bad deal either).
Fortunately the cafe downstairs in KL knows how to do fried eggs on toast with chips so at least I won't starve
I would kill for a chicken balti right now
I could eat this every day. With lashings of tomato sauce.Originally Posted by ShrewedPunter
Last I was in London thought the British food was fantastic.
Go Northern Irish, throw a bit of spring onion and cream into your mash. Champ it's called.
Myself, i also throw garlic in there.
My mothers cooking - the best. But then she has lived around the world and taught her children not to be afraid of any sort of food or tastes. We tried everything from an early age. Fussy eaters, not in our house.
The only thing - we do not like bland or brussel sprouts. Christmas day was always and still is - are you going to eat one or two this year. And i have horrible memories of liver. Yuck.
And, for politeness sakes and respect and love, it is great to be able to cook for your mother. Jeez, how many meals has she cooked for you?
I park her in front of the telly and cook, she shouts out instructions etc. but in the end we have a well cooked meal and she loves it!! And, i even do the dishes!!
I think for my next visit the dishwasher will have been plugged in. But then, i have never owned a dishwashing machine. So its normal to wash the dishes by hand.
