The New hottest chilli in the world, go on treat some one special..

It's red, a rare delicacy and just three centimetres long – but comes with a ‘do not touch’ warning as it packs enough punch to kill.

Meet the world’s hottest chilli – the Carolina Reaper – which is now stocked at New Mills, U.K greengrocers the Veg Box, one of only a few places in the north west to sell it.

Owner Matthew Taylor, 42, had to wait eight months for his supplier to get the authorisation to import it, such is its power. And he will only sell it to people aged 18 or over as it can cause a fatal anaphylactic shock if eaten raw.

Matthew, who also lives in New Mills, said: “It is not to be messed with and not to be handled by customers.

“If you do, even if you wash your hands, if you go to the toilet you will be in a lot of pain. It is a wonderful cooking chilli with heat and flavour. I sell it responsibly and ask people what they want it for because if eaten in excess or raw it is very dangerous.

“I’m one of the very few people to stock the Carolina Reaper. People who buy it are advised how to handle it and warned to use extreme caution. It really is just for cooking purposes.”

Just 10 days after stocking the Carolina Reaper, which costs 50p a chilli, Matthew has sold around 1,000.

It is named after the American state it was created in, by fusing together other strong types of chilli, but Matthew sources his from Belgium.

The Scoville Scale measures the strength of chilli and the naga ghost, previously thought to be the strongest, measures 1m. The Carolina Reaper rates at 1.5 to 2.2m.

I bought 200 seeds for something like $0.96 with free delivery from Oz. I dished them out to friends and customers who planted them and returned some of the successful ones. They are growing nicely but don't appear to be reapers. I have now ordered 50 genuine seeds direct from the source at $40 + $15.25 p+p so hopefully I'll get some return this year.

    Whatever they are...

    One question.. Why?

Instantly ruins any food you might put it on, will make you very ill, or kill you by shiteing out your major intestine with a chili-induced rectal prolapse... Might as well put a lump of C4 up your arse.

Ah, I think I've answered my own question.

I tried a ghost chili hot sauce a while back because it was on sale at tops. I put a couple of drops in a big bowl of chili.

I thought I was going to have another heart attack. That shit is simply not meant for human consumption. It does not add "flavor", after all how many people remember the taste after all that heat.
