    Mc99's TuckShop Special

Realizing that many of my Lao Khao addled regulars are desperately trying to relive a lost youth in the depths of the Orient on a budget the equivalent of a Pint and a handful and bar nuts a day, in a moment of rare sobriety I set my mind to work. What was the first memorable take out snack of my youth?
The thing that I really liked to nosh on for lunch and could smell from approximately 30 meters provided the weird girl in class who always drank her milk to fast didn't wet herself beside me?

    Sausage Rolls!

Take some beef and pork mince, add some onion, breadcrumbs, herbs and 2 rashers of bacon.
Run it through the blender till it looks like this.

Roll out the leftover pastry from your last pie.
Lay a thick sausage of your mix and fold the pastry over and paint it with egg yolk.
Gently stretch the other side over to seal.

Into the oven on baking paper. 200 or so for 30 min or so.

Beautiful. Until you find out that the baking paper is more like, just plain paper and they have stuck......fucking thai shit never does what it is supposed to be made to do....

Spend a bit of time picking paper off and cut one open.

    Perfect!

Pre Lunch deal two sausage rolls and a shot of LK for 85 baht!
    Only at Mc99's!

Drive 35 minutes east down the highway to Roi Et, past the abandoned farang built mansion, take a left at the toothless granny, continue for about 30 min down the unlit cobra infested track until you can see Mai Arse. We're on the right, the only hut with power, can't miss us.

Too easy mate. I wonder if a halal version would taste just as good....

    joking.

btw, made some pies again for the rugby on Saturday, they were a hit, though slightly burned.

Mc99s has started selling finger food?

Methinks the bourgeoisie have ousted the peasants. No doubt LK has been replaced with Perrier and Bollinger.

    Shame on you.

Mc99, does the sausage hold together well enough? Would an egg into the mix help it bind better?

Tuckshop sausage rolls were the absolute BOMB. Served in a white paper bag with tomatoe sauce running down to your elbow while eating them, simply divine . Don't suppose you know how to make Boston buns or Lamingtons as well for the full Tuckshop effect?.

That lot was actually hamburger mix I made a few months ago and did in fact have an egg.
Adding the 2 fatty bacon rashers and blitzing probably means you dont need one, but it couldn't hurt.
