    How long depends on many things, but wait until it is double the original size.
    For me, that's about two hours.

    When you press it down and make it into patties on the baking try, leave it about an hour, it should be puffy but not really risen like the first time.

    Aside, next time I will reduce or leave out the sugar, but as I said you need instant yeast to do this, not dry active.
