    Poll: 350 baht well spent?

I spent 4.5 rials, around 350 baht on this 300g piece of cheese, just liked the look of it.

    Would you?

I haven't tried this cheese before, any good?

I have some multigrain bread and some Branston pickle. I think you know what's coming - might keep it for watching the sports over the weekend.

    Cycling should be banned!!!

Farking HellsBells, I expected a bit more of a positive reaction than that off the Englishmen of the board... If that's what I get from you fellas then what's gonna happen when Failsafe and AO hit the thread..., never mind Socal and Paps... Might as well throw it all in the bin now...

Cathedral City is OK. There's lots of worse brands. And it's not much cheaper than that in the UK (about £4.50 for that weight)

What??? Branston is THE Englishness - ness that keeps us away from the likes of the French! How can you not like bread - it's an Englishman's staple!!!

You is fuked up me friend, severely so...

Nice to hear from you, NR. Much more so than those other heathens. I like your style. If you're in Muscat, feel free to pop in anytime - bring all the bread and pickle you want.

I reckon I can get some if I pop to Muscat at the weekend... Only an hour away, pay day tomorrow, so might as well treat meself! We have pork shops here, not Saudi you know... (quite funny to see the locals have a good look around them before they pop into the pork section (usually a small seperate room) at double quick speed then rush out again...

Yeah, but sand is cheaper here than at Sainsbury's, and goats are always 2 for the price of 1; no prosecutions here for cat rape!

^ Branston is shit compared to the stuff we make in Udon and the Midget's bread is as good as it gets and has no toxins in it (unlike yours).

^funnily enough, I was asking today - the locals said they don't make goat cheese here. Seems strange, not sure it can be true, goats everywhere...

The product is made from a 25-year-old recipe in Davidstow, in Cornwall - which is not a city, nor does it have a Cathedral.

    ... mmmm

It has long laid claim to being Britain's 'favourite cheese'.
And while Cathedral City cheddar may not be found in the fridge of many cheese connoisseurs, it seems the boast is not far from the truth.
It is now one of Britain's top 20 most highly-rated brands, according to a survey.

    It's not sounding too good...

Cathedral City: the cheese is among the top 20 most highly-rated brands in the UK | Mail Online

Here we go, this is better - 5*s...

5 stars, not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but all FIVE. I'm in like Flynn.

Have to grab the best you can sometimes Betty never going to be as good as a proper cheddar though.I have become lazy when choosing and buy Cathedral City sometimes .
But think i will start looking for decent cheeses from now as i am finding cheese a little bit bland when mass produced.Going to get a bit of decent stuff from the local farm shop before we head back to Thailand.
Done a bit of research online and if available at my local shop might give the Stinking Bishop a try.

    ^ sounds nice.

As you say, this was the best available... sounds like it's not very good though; might be okay if I smother it in Branston.

We'll see. I just want a tad of strength and a nice flavour, I don't need spectacular...

It's a cheese I like, but on toast and with the Branston.
Branston is part of my travelling kit, along with a tube of Coleman's mustard.
Which also is good in a cheese sandwich.

I voted yes. I don't know a darn thing about the cheese or the sandwich but it looks better than the crap available out here in the sticks.
