Ones a 15 hour train and bus and ferry journey, or a 5000 baht round trip, the other is a 3 hour drive from BKK. Great beaches on both. Not much to do on Samet than chill out though.

No, that would be Pattaya.

Samui is actually pretty good if you stay away from Chaweng and Lamai. There's tons to do as well.
Samet is just too expensive. 10 baht/min. for internet, and as of October 1st, a 500 baht entry fee for farang (at least this is what I've heard). Gimme a break.

samet's fine. never had to pay the 200 baht entry - dont really care either. better beaches, less touts and taxi and stoopid tourists.

so what abt interenet cost - i dont go to the beach to get online.

closer easier cheaper and less hassles.

no brainer.

Each to their own I did'nt like the place. I would'nt go to Pattaya for the beaches, I would'nt go to Samet for the women and I would'nt go to Samui at all

. I never use the internet when I'm on holidays so that would'nt matter
