    Chanthaburi fruit markets

Not only is Chanthaburi famous for its gemstones, although I don't think they have any quality gemstones left but it is also famous for its fruits and the poxy traffic jams they cause.

The traffic jams are caused by the poxy fruit sellers and buyers, ie a fruit seller will park his pick up on the hard shoulder to set up shop so to speak and sell his fruit from the back of his truck, then another fruit seller will double park next to him to negotiate swapping a small amount of his fruits for a small amout of the other guys fruits, then you get Mr Retard triple parking next to him to purchase a kilo or 2 of fruit, yep they got about 3kms of parked and double parked trucks on the highway

Anyway this is one of the better places, ie a market with off road parking that doesn't force you into endangering yourself or other drivers, although of course you still get the motorbikes travelling in the wrong direction but they don't like playing chicken down that way, suppose they haven't got the drug problems down there like we have in Pattaya.

    Pretty crappy mangosteen there (mankuot).

End of season golf balls, pretty much worthless.

    Which market was this one?

I think it was the first big one on the highway coming from Makham once you go round the right hand bend, as for the fruits I don't even know which one is the mangosteen, ended up not buying any fruits as my girlfriend wanted cantaloupe and they didn't have any.

mangosteen on the lower right, next to the rambutan and below the lyche. Longan upper left barely visible.

Canteloupe are not grown around here that I know of. Would require a greenhouse for sure just to keep the friggin bugs out.
