    What Happened Next?

We've all seen the stories in the Pattaya papers of this bag-snatch or that assault or whatever being commited & the photo's of the perps being fingered by the victims, usually ending with words to to effect of "& the punks will have to explain thier actions to a judge".

Any way of finding out what actually happens to them? I know some probably just pay their way & that's the end of that but sometimes I'd like to know what kind of punishment they recieve. Not in general but on a case-by-case basis.

I wonder as well, if any action is taken after the stories appear in the papers.

But you got to remember, Pattaya News are "The Sun" for the Brits here, can't expect them to follow up on anything, and should take their so-called reporting with a grain of salt or two.

Isn't there anywhere we can find out though? I take the stories in the PP with a pinch of salt myself but the pictures paint a thousand words.

The golden rule of reporting is that if you cover someone being arrested/charge you then have to follow the story and print the outcome of the court verdict.

General rule of thumb is that if you put someone on the front page then you report the outcome on the front page....

    Obviously not in pattaya
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Trouble is most of these cases are settled with money before they hit the courts, they just do a few more bag snatches to pay off the original victim
