    Name that dish...

To help everyone get started I will post the 1st dish. Now what is it called?

Ok, that was an easy one. A typical American breakfast.

Now for a harder dish. What is this one called?

^^ Chicken adobo, correct (well near enough, it's chicken n' pork adobo).
Kinilaw, h'mm real close but not quite. It's ceviche', which is also raw seafood but marinated in lime not vinegar.

    Well done though.

Marinated in lime, not vinegar. Sounds good. I will try it that way soon. Maybe I cheat. I lived in Cebu for nine years. I love to put kinilaw in the refer so it is nice and cold in the morning and eat it with hot rice.

Is it ok to use calamounsi in place of lime?

Sure, why not. Any strong citrus would do the trick.

Nope. That's not Merican. No butter on the toast (and I hate the bladdy English version of toast served cold and then you put the butter on and it doesn't melt in). And what's that blob of ketchup amd that limp copy of a parsley sprig? Only one egg and only two rashers of bacon? And where's the hotcakes? Sorry, that's a pseudo Merican breakfast. And no coffee or OJ either.

Biscuits with white sausage gravy. I am getting chest pains just looking at it. Also needed... large glass of sweet iced tea and a bottle of tabasco for the eggs and biscuits.

A ham steak instead of the sausage links is a nice substitute!

Well... off to breakfast! Great thread.
